Rock Band 2 bonus DLC rolls out today
Still haven't received a code from Harmonix to download the 20 free Rock Band 2 tracks? Well, friends, you aren't alone, because the redemption code emails are still being sent out.Hmxsean posted a 20 free song update over on the official Rock Band forums, telling fans that over the next twenty-four hours (beginning Tuesday evening) they'll be emailing out redemption codes to those who already registered for the 20 free Rock Band 2 songs. In other words, be patient and constantly refresh your inbox. And if you own Rock Band 2 and have yet to register for the free DLC, we advise going here and starting the process.

Awesome, I can't wait to play I.V. on Rock Band 2, I never thought that dream would come true.
Rick @ Nov 5th 2008 12:51PM
HMX stated they would start last evening but nobody got one (to my knowledge; reading RB forums early this morning). I suspect they said that with the added message to buy them 24 hours and get them all out today instead.
and it's not FREE DLC. You paid for these songs when buying RB2. These songs are supposedly ones that just didn't fit on the disc. Everyone already paid for these with the promise of getting them later (which is today)
DBoyFlex @ Nov 5th 2008 12:59PM
They have the free song battle up but NO SONGS! Come on get us the codes already. I recall the 4th, not the 5th, or likely the 6th.

People, their coming, stop complaining! Be happy they're free! 20 Songs! Woo!
aStagnantSleep (GT:StoneRevolver) @ Nov 5th 2008 1:02PM
*they're
craig64 @ Nov 5th 2008 1:17PM
I'm happy that they're free... I'm just not happy with the songs. I'm sure some of them are decent, I've just never heard of any of the bands. I'll still be downloading them though.
aStagnantSleep (GT:StoneRevolver) @ Nov 5th 2008 1:20PM
Same, kinda. I was pissed I knew none of the artists but I guess that's my fault for not listening to alot of different things. Glad to see Underoath there though.
Neuromancer @ Nov 5th 2008 1:05PM
Hopefully some songs in this motley crew will be decent.
Neuromancer @ Nov 5th 2008 1:05PM
And worth the wait.
Mr Bunky @ Nov 5th 2008 1:24PM
I hope they don't thow in another mess like Visions. That song is a pain in the a$$ to sing and play.
AxFactor @ Nov 5th 2008 1:29PM
Looking forward to Kutless and Underoath, now if only we can get some Skillet
Rick @ Nov 5th 2008 1:48PM
Yeah i've been really looking forward to Kutless. When i first saw the list of 20 and realized i didn't know most and saw Kutless and Underoath, my eyes sure lit up with excitement. I look forward to playing the unknowns to me also, maybe find some new good music.
Skillets "Rebirthing" is my most sought after song for RB. Hears to hoping.
Destroyer88 @ Nov 5th 2008 1:43PM
Nobody has gotten them yet as far as I can tell. PS3 users don't get them until tomorrow, and nobody has played the battle of the bands 20 songs.
Happy we are getting "free" songs but it's pretty sad we were supposed to get them yesterday and here we are with half of today over and not one person has gotten an e-mail. They've had months to prepare everything and now it's delayed.
Oh well, nothing really even worth this rant besides Underoath.
Joshua @ Nov 5th 2008 3:02PM
Yep.
Underoath and Between the Buried and Me are the only two songs in the entire pack I didn't hate.
Hopefully we can pick and choose. I'm running out of HDD space after damn Rush and Megadeth and RB1

From HMXSean
"We have hit an unexpected delay with getting the content online with Microsoft and are working diligently with them to get that resolved. We have suspended sending out the token codes until the content becomes available. Sending out the codes before the content is live will just result in more confusion. We hope to have this resolved in the next 24 hours and apologize profusely for the delay.
We're also working with Sony to get the content up on PS3 and the codes out. More on that as information becomes available.
Again, we apologize for the delay and are working our butts off to get the content out to you."
Looks like it will be a longer wait.

Thanks. I always forget giving a source to a quote.

Jesus Christ Harmonix, just do it already, you've had months.
pibs @ Nov 5th 2008 4:51PM

Don @ Nov 5th 2008 5:29PM
this is going to rock
Brian @ Nov 6th 2008 1:59AM
i havent got mine yet?
Octantis @ Nov 6th 2008 10:25AM
What is so weird about this sort of stuff is why don't they test before hand? Something along the lines of having difficulty getting the songs up to MS seems like something they could have tried I don't know maybe last weekend? I guess it will get here when it gets here.
joker ant @ Nov 6th 2008 4:47PM
OK, questions time. I just got the code. I don't have an HHD. How does the download actually work? Is it listed on the Marketplace or Music Store after we enter the code or does the download start "as soon as" I enter the code. I ask because my bro has our HDD and he's keeping it, I don't get one for a few weeks from MS (I know they can do express ship, but the bastards won't.) If I enter the code while signed in on my account using my bro's HDD and download them to it, can I re-download the tracks when I get my HDD at a later time? If so, how? OR can I move the tracks to an MU then transfer form the MU to my new HDD?
Lawrence D @ Nov 6th 2008 4:45PM
just a heads up to everyone..
i received my code in an email at 12:44pm PST.
so people should be getting their codes too as well.
