Halo 3 Team Flag double EXP weekend

All weekend long, Bungie is offering double experience points to those who want to play Team Flag in Halo 3. That's right, it's another Halo 3 Double EXP Weekend and this week we're being treated to Team Flag, a 5v5 flag'tacular playlist that's made up of flag gametypes
The big question is whether or not anyone is all that interested in a Halo 3 double EXP weekend when a certain curb-stomping game just released. Sorry Halo, this weekend you're taking the the back seat and letting Marcus drive the Xbox Live vehicle. Unless you're willing to offering quadruple the EXP ... then we'd think about it.

There is no way anyone will be playing Halo this weekend; unless they're too young to buy Gears. I hate kids...

Um... isn't it possible that many people find Gears dull, repetitive, and too similar to the original to care?

@GANNONSMASH
*gasp*
You mean...just like Halo 3?!
David @ Nov 7th 2008 9:14PM
No actually, this post is proof that Halo 3 is a game which has multiplayer that constantly changes. There are so many gametypes, user maps, playlists, etc that it can stay relatively fresh and always fun. I got tired of Gears multiplayer after about 3 weeks.

Also @ BigDaddyBooth:
Both Halo 3 and Gears 2 are rated M and require you to be 17 or older to purchase the game...so if you are too young to buy Gears you are too young to buy Halo.

Does it really matter anymore if you are too young to buy a game? Since you are an avid Halo 3 player (as am I), I'm sure you notice the high volume of high pitched voices that you hear.

I hate Dustin, he's so biased on all his posts about halo. GoW's a great game, but so is halo, and not EVERYONE is moving to gears just because its the in thing to do. So I will be playing h3 this weekend instead of gears :)

hate is a strong word...

I refuse to pay for a map pack just to be able to play multiplayer games that I used to be able to play ie Capture The Flag. CTF was one of my favorite parts of playing halo online but I guess I'll be playing Gears this weekend anyways :)

Seriously?
You can still play custom games and even matchmaking.
You really expect Bungie to exclude all their new content from matchmaking just because a few cheap people refuse to pay for the new content? It costs them money to produce the DLC, and it's not expensive, so why do people act like they are being ripped off?

Yeah frickin' right. Sorry MCI'm hangin' with Mr Fenix. For a long while.

I will admit, I won't be picking this up until after the holidays as I got too much to play. I guess I also find it too repetitive and alittle to...how should I put this.....'roided. It just looks the whole cast is on freakin roids and it just bugs the hell outta me. It just reminds me of meat heads who chat "kill kill kill" with every step they take as they play. Again just my opinion.

Not everyone buys their games on day 1. It is foolish to even think so.

I love team flag! Gears is a great , and I just finished the campaign and must admit the campaign was exciting and epic, just like a great action movie, but the multiplayer doesn't quite live up to expectations:
1.The chainsaw is cheesy and you can't stun players coming at you with the chainsaw on
2. It's inconsistent, sometimes you blow players away with one shotgun shot and other times it takes 5 or 6 shots.
3. Matchmaking system is an improvement from Gears 1, but not nearly as solid as Halo's.
4. Lancer is a little on the weak, except for the chainsaw of course. Shotgun is slower.
