EA milks Dead Space with purchasable DLC

You can view the complete list of DLC after the break, which includes various armor and weapon content that ranges in price from 80 to 320 Microsoft points. We wish the content was free (like the Elite offering weeks back), but we have to let EA be EA and let them milk their Dead Space cash cow. Bleh.

sigh
Cole @ Nov 10th 2008 2:35PM
This would be nice if it was new weapons, not just new skins.
Matt Already Said That @ Nov 10th 2008 2:56PM
One of them is new apparently...the second entry down reads as if its a new weapon.

dlc is one of the reasons im not interested in buying a lot of new games. rent the game and buy the dlc to play the whole game and still not spend more than the full game.
gameplan backfired when gears 2 included retro map pack.. cant play gears till i pay 10 bucks just for maps or buy full game..
games depreciate so quickly and i cant afford to maintain this gaming habit thru the holidays at full retail prices..

Like EA doesn't already make enough money.
Way to be a big money hungry corporate d-bag EA.
Though I'm surprised they weren't charging for all those Burnout Paradise DLC. At least they're doing something right.
R_Fusion @ Nov 10th 2008 3:20PM
Bah! More useless stuff, at least to me. Some people might find something useful tho
Latin Trident @ Nov 10th 2008 3:32PM
hopefully people won't buy anything and the cash cow will be so big that they will give content for free! Windows live anyone?
Jonman @ Nov 10th 2008 3:33PM
I feel the same way about this as I feel about handbags. Folk can waste their money on crap however they want, but I'm not dropping cash on that overpriced tat.
Additionally, much like thousand-dollar handbags, I'm endlessly amazed that people *do* buy this crap.
DBoyFlex @ Nov 10th 2008 3:38PM
can i get horse armor?
Paulmichael @ Nov 10th 2008 3:42PM
So, for 360 owners, that's an extra $26.50 that those obsessive collectors will be paying. That's not milking a new successful IP, EA, that's raping it and calling it your bitch.
rookie.of.the.year @ Nov 10th 2008 3:50PM
Fuck that noise. It's a great game, but there's always going to be something casting a shadow over it when it's EA at the helm. At least this is all cosmetic rather than vital components or something.
ZeitgeistXIII @ Nov 10th 2008 5:09PM
Oh boy a bunch of stuff to download and well they only one that sees t is you. I guess thats good since i would be embarassed to show my XBL friends how much of a sucker I am. If they did all the Amway people would strat spamming me no doubt.
Mechanical @ Nov 10th 2008 5:17PM
Mountains of molehills. Honestly, if you don't want it, don't get it. If someone else wants it, great, they have that option. Christ. It's not as though you're being forced at gunpoint to download anything.
Mr.U2 @ Nov 10th 2008 6:40PM
EA would.
theboy @ Nov 10th 2008 8:00PM
Screw EA for making optional additional content. I hate optional content that I don't have to buy!!!!!!!!!
Paul @ Nov 11th 2008 4:29AM
Back in the day of PS1, you used to be able to unlock this stuff if your run through Resident Evil was quick enough...
Feedback @ Nov 11th 2008 1:25AM
What a crock of shit. Paying this much for new weapon skins? Screw that.
Procris @ Nov 11th 2008 8:31AM
Yeah... No thanks EA! Come back when the DLC is actually worth my money.
EnjoiChocolate @ Jan 2nd 2009 9:34PM
i just got the military pack, it is pretty misleading considering it doesnt actually give you the military suit....but the guns look kinda cool and it gave me a damage boost. woot impossible mode here i come. all in all, the DLC for DS is pretty worthless, but i have come to the conclusion that i would feel like a complete D I C K if i purchased the elite suit or scorpion suit, it was free a few months ago!!
