Left 4 Dead demo zombifies XBLM

We're not even sure why you're sitting there reading this. If we were you -- and despite what your schizophrenic side tells you, we're not -- we would be running to our Xbox 360 and downloading right now. But, for the sake of formality: The Left 4 Dead demo is now on Xbox Live Marketplace for all to download and enjoy. The demo includes single-player and online multiplayer sections of the game and even supports two-player splitscreen support. Go get it already!

For those of you lucky enough to have the NXE, we should note that the demo is not currently showing up in the New Arrivals section of Game Demos on XBLM. We had to browse the All Games section for Left 4 Dead (it's under L!) in order to find it. Also, strangely, it can be found in the Game Demos section under the letter L, but only if you sort the list by popularity. Our best guess is that a cyber zombie has been chewing on the brains of Xbox Live. It's the only thing that makes sense, really.

I wish my XBL downloads didn't go so slow. I haven't been this excited about a demo since the Bioshock demo.

So I haven't been paying much attention to this game. I know I want it, because I love co-op. I do have a question. If you are playing alone are the other three players A.I.?

Any slot you can't fill with a human player will be taken by an AI bot.

Also good to note is that the AI is not worthless in this game you need them and they will protect you.

The only problem is that the AI never takes any initiative (in my experience). You'll always be the first through the door (and thus the first to get eaten).

The game needs a rainbow 6 style command system (if there is one and I missed it, I fail) if only for people that can't play online.

I have the strangest feeling that since the game isn't Halo or COD4, and it's not Madden, that I won't be able to find three friends willing to play.

The demo has 4-player online co-op. Up to two people on the same console.

This game is like crack. Very addictive immensely entertaining as every play through is unique. For such a short demo, I'm amazed at the replayability of this game. Valve does great work.

wasn't there earlier before 5:30.. but there by 6:00... was in it's proper place too (UK marketplace)

I like this game. Its not as mature as i thought it would be, its a lot like an arcade shooter but that is no bad thing. Graphics aren't great but the gameplay certainly is. It feels very old school.

Was looking forward to this game. The demo actually disappointed me. Graphics are very weak, A.I. is sub par, the game seems very generic, cheap. I expected a lot more from valve.

i was real excited about this game, downloaded it......and it was crap....but good to see demos now allowing online multiplayer....ie. call of duty waw, now this.....its a good sign of things to come

Could you please explain why it was crap? I've had the most fun playing this demo (have put in well over 10 hours) for as long as I can remember. So many 'oh shit' moments it's amazing. Getting a good group of guys to play together with is essential.

i was just disappointed, i heard go much great stuff about the game and when i played it it seemed hard to keep track what was going on, i dont like the side by side split screen, it was too much going on at once....you would get gang tackled by 20 zombies and you cant even look around...also i dont like how it shows the other people in your group, i guess its not crap but it was definetly a let down

Hey i have been playing the demo for a while and iv seen videos of people playing VS mode and i want to now how they got to it. I no they let you play it for a little while and removed it. Seems the Left 4 Dead demo has already been taken down. It's a real shame they did this, as I was really considering buying the game, but without testing it I don't think I will.

Hey, could anyone let me know if there is something wrong with xbox live cause I was searching up the demo for left4dead and when I checked in games and did exactly what the passage said to do, it was there but in video form. Is there an error or something? I'd appreciate a reply, thanks ^_^
