Complete Halo Trilogy soundtrack boxed set

We all know that the Marty O'Donnell composed Halo musical score is one of epic proportions. So epic, in fact, that over the course of the Halo trilogy, Bungie has released five discs of Halo soundtrack goodness. All of which you should own. For those who have yet to fulfill their Halo soundtrack purchasing duty, then this product should be of interest.
It's the Halo Trilogy - The Complete Original Soundtracks boxed set featuring all five soundtracks spanning the entire Halo'verse. The Amazon.com listing pegs its release for December 2nd and slaps a $29.98 price tag on the complete set. Not too shabby of a deal. That is if you're one who legally obtains their music ... ahem.

I legally obtain to support things like this. Others, not so much. Been trying to force myself to purchase of iTunes. Man, that isn't easy.

5? I though there were 4 Halo soundtracks?
Halo
Halo 2 part 1
Halo 2 Part 2
Halo 3
When was a 5th one released?
Deezul @ Nov 13th 2008 2:09PM
I think Marty discussed a 2nd Halo 3 disc during the Bungie Podcast, so maybe that's #5.
DudeRed @ Nov 13th 2008 2:26PM
Yes, the Halo 3 soundtrack comes with a second disc.
Deezul @ Nov 13th 2008 2:37PM
Doh, you are correct. I have the CDs, so I should have known. But since H2 had to seperate releases and H3 combined them into one package, I was confused.

I thought that Microsoft didn't like releasing video game soundtrack CDs?
Deezul @ Nov 13th 2008 2:39PM
3 Halos, 2 Gears, 1 Perfect Dark Zero say otherwise...

It's what they said when I asked about a Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts soundtrack.
Still, at least Rare will likely throw their music onto their website (they've already started doing it).

How is they? You asked Microsoft directly about releasing a music CD? Wouldn't be better off emailing the guys at Rare?

Awesome! This will be an instant buy for me.

This will be worth buying for any who don't own these soundtracks already. I picked up the original Halo soundtrack way back and it is still one of my favorite CD buy's. Maybe the "Lost Track" from Halo 1 will be added to this set.
Some of my choice tracks:
Halo - Ambient Wonder, Covenant Dance, The Maw, On a Pale Horse
Halo 2 - In Amber Clad, Orbit of Glass, Blow Me Away (I would have preferred an instrumental version though)
Halo 3 - Halo I, The Covenant I, Ending III
There are also soundtracks for Mass Effect and Oblivion. Amazing stuff.
