A handy 360 SKU chart for holiday shopping
Joystiq has compiled an updated 360 SKU chart just in time for the holiday shopping season. If you're looking to pick up an Xbox 360 for someone special (like yourself, for example), this super handy chart can help you (or your mom) sort out which console is which. There are five different SKUs out there -- all with a variety of possible chipsets -- so it's understandably confusing, especially to the uninitiated (also known as the people who buy presents). Head over to Joystiq for the chart and a helpful (if schizophrenic) FAQ.

Here we go again talking about "Sku's" as opposed to the different "packaging" options offered.
When the fuck did we all stop being gamers and become critics / businessmen who play games??

You know what, if your going to talk about the different Sku's, at least offer me the god damn sku's so when I check the item on the shelf I can compare.
God knows nothing gets me harder / hornier than talking about the stock keeping unit of 822437 399404 as opposed to the Halo Edition Xbox 360!!

Has anyone been able to get Microsoft to send them a data migration kit when they bought a 60 GB console ?
ChuckJ @ Nov 18th 2008 4:17PM
I just got a 120gb so I need one as well. I am not sure yet how to go about doing it.
One thing that worries me is that Ive already started playing games on using my 120gb. Now Im not sure if Ill be able to copy game files from my 20 gb drive to the 120 without over-writing. Id like to 'combine' them if thats possible.

here's the link:

i don't think they'll be able to be combined... what you might want to do is just get/borrow a memory card to move the saves

Thanks for the link. I was worried about pre-loaded content on the 120GB getting overwritten.
"If you have already saved games or stored content on your Xbox 360 Elite system's 120GB hard drive or the Xbox 360 Special Edition 20GB hard drive, those games and that content will be erased during the content transfer. (All preloaded content will remain when the transfer is complete.) Xbox LIVE® Arcade games and other content purchased on Xbox LIVE can be re-downloaded."

I read somewhere that these holiday bundles that are coming out is Microsoft trying to get rid of the old chipsets for the new Jaspers and that the Jasper should be in retail stores in December. God knows how the hell you are suppose to find out if its a Jasper when you go to Walmart, the employees there are about as stupid as they come, and I imagine they won't let you look inside the box to see what chipset it is (I guess from the "lot number" that you can tell) So basically you are screwed on knowing what you are buying unless its used.
