COD: World at War #1 in UK, outsells COD4 2 to 1

GI.biz reports that first week sales of Call of Duty: World at War in the UK have exceeded first week sales of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare by a margin of more than 2 to 1. The game landed in the number one spot in the UK for all platforms according to Chart-Track. Considering the previous installment sold over 10 million copies, it's not too surprising that the latest has managed to pick up significant sales. Another thing that isn't too surprising (though perhaps a little alarming) is that Activision published games make up more than 25% of all game sales in the UK last week (thanks in no small part to the Lich King).

The next step: Activision acquires a little start-up named Cyberdyne Systems. You know the rest.
