GTAIV 'Lost and Damned' DLC dated for Feb '09

After a delay or two and nothing but silence from Rockstar, we finally have specific information regarding the release of the Xbox 360 exclusive (and highly anticipated) Grand Theft Auto IV episodic DLC.
According to USA Today, the GTAIV "Lost and Damned" episodic DLC will release on February 17th, 2009 and feature main character Johnny Klebitz who's a member of the Liberty City biker gang "The Lost". Rockstar VP Dan Houser describes Johnny as "a very different character than Niko, with a very different background" and promises that "the story will show you a different side of Liberty City." No other story information was revealed and pricing is still up in the air. Just be happy we have a release date.

i didnt finish the game, maybe the dlc will be more interesting.. stealing cars just doesnt have the same umph to it any more, especially with that overgrown dating simulator attached to it..
MDJ2010 @ Nov 20th 2008 3:12AM
Sounds good actually, I was expected nothing more than further missions for Niko which I probably would have given a miss.
UNSCleric @ Nov 20th 2008 3:17AM
Oh my.
AnthonyGalindoX @ Nov 20th 2008 4:15AM
Quartermann was right.
Boff @ Nov 20th 2008 4:53AM
Sounds interesting.... I thought the DLC would be extra missions for Niko too.
This sounds like it'll freshen things up a bit.
dylan @ Nov 20th 2008 5:51AM
Yawn... whaaa? did someone say something about an outdated game? I'm going back to sleep...
CrustyManMeat @ Nov 20th 2008 6:06AM
How dull. Seriously, does anyone actually care about this game anymore?
MDJ2010 @ Nov 20th 2008 12:39PM
Developers must hate people liike the two above, attention span of a gnat I think.
skr111lz @ Nov 20th 2008 7:21AM
wow I cant believe that they are actually making that much of a change for DLC, I thought for sure they would just add more missions and maybe a new small island or something. It`d be cool if on one of your missions you came across Niko doing a mission from the original game or something.
Seanross @ Nov 20th 2008 8:45AM
Quite ridiculous, considering they said it was coming out in August? This DLC was the only reason I kept the game, this crap better be worth it.
blank964 @ Nov 20th 2008 8:56AM
I've been critical of how overrated this game is but I'm willing to give it another shot when the DLC comes out.
prence @ Nov 20th 2008 9:18AM
I forgot GTA even existed :\ Yawn.
Urza @ Nov 20th 2008 9:28AM
GTA4 wasn't that great when it came out and this DLC won't make it any better. I still remember when it was being called game of the year. :P
Sneeches @ Nov 20th 2008 9:33AM
Hmm...Feb 09...that's like 7mths too late. No one plays this piece of crap game anymore.
NOOK @ Nov 20th 2008 9:35AM
Wow ... I'm really glad I can actually enjoy my games a lot longer than any of you guys. I haven't even finished GTA IV. So you people buy/rent a new game on releaseday and play it straight to the end?
readmore @ Nov 20th 2008 12:08PM
Ya exactly! What about the people that can't get every game RIGHT away on launch day? There are loads of people that are going to get this game for Xmas I am sure and loads more that will get it sometime after getting their Xbox under the tree. I got it day one but still haven't got 100% in it so there's lots more fun to be had. I mean Oblivion sold tons of their Shivering Isle expansion. AND GTA isn't even that old!
blank964 @ Nov 20th 2008 4:25PM
I purchased the game the day after it came out, enjoyed it for about a month and just haven't cared to finish it. But like I've said since they announced this, it better be worthwhile or Microsoft looks stupid.
From what we know so far it's more than what most people expected.
baby sea tuna @ Nov 20th 2008 9:37AM
Buncha fuckin babies over here. Yeah, I think this content should have come out 4 months ago too, but that hardly makes it "irrelevant," and hardly makes GTAIV any less of a revolutionary experience.
The move toward a more realistic style is the best thing GTA has done since making the jump to 3-D. If you want to do ridiculous shit like make your character super-fat or parachute off a bridge, go back to playing Saint's Row and Just Cause and don't begrudge the rest of us for liking this game.
blowtorchrepair @ Nov 20th 2008 9:47AM
right on baby sea tuna. GTA 4 blows away the other sandbox kiddi games out there like SR2 or Crackdown. more thuggery and mayhem to come in Liberty City!
and how bout the ability to fire RPG's and sniper rifles from a helicopter? LJ and the cops can...
psychohog @ Nov 20th 2008 9:52AM
Saint's Row is a kiddie game?
blowtorchrepair @ Nov 20th 2008 11:00AM
i've played SR2 a few times and tho' it's funny, it just isn't sticking with me. The driving is very arcade-like, IMO. I read "don't compare it to gta4" from gamers that digg SR2... easier said than done. it's all good tho'... different strokes for different folks. ;) can't wait for the GTA4 DLC.
mirage @ Nov 20th 2008 12:16PM
I own both and love both. GTA 4 was a great experience and SR2 honestly reminds me of the GTA of last gen but with updated graphics and even more options. They are both a blast to play though. This should be sweet! Sounds like the zombie thing might be happening to based on the title! A member of a biker gang fighting for his life against a zombie horde?? Oh yea! Give me some of that!!! (Even if Left 4 Dead has a biker too.)
NOOK @ Nov 20th 2008 9:57AM
Gangstaz are pretty kiddie, so I assume Saints Row is too.
offday @ Nov 20th 2008 9:59AM
Hmm I could have sworn Feb. wasn't in the Fall?
Too late for me anyway. I went from pumped about this DLC to not giving a crap and actually trading in my copy of GTAIV.
drdre74 @ Nov 20th 2008 10:00AM
sounds like its going to be another 20 -30 bucks for the DLC. I'm not putting anymore money into this game. Plus Killzone 2 comes out that month. tHEY SHOULD HAVE DROPPED this back when there was a no good games coming out.
offday @ Nov 20th 2008 10:05AM
Also, why is USA Today the first ones to get word of this?
Arnold @ Nov 20th 2008 10:39AM
Are they going to fix the controls, and car handling?? No? then i dont #@%#ing care. this game is waaaaay overrated. they definitely put more work into peripheral aspects of the game, than the fundamentals.
Brandon @ Nov 20th 2008 10:51AM
"...Xbox 360 exclusive (and highly anticipated) Grand Theft Auto IV episodic DLC..."
Highly anticipated... I think that was about 3 months ago.
Mokano40 @ Nov 20th 2008 10:59AM
I believe GTA4 is a great game, but somehow it the 3 previous games seem funnier, my favorite was GTA: VC and that's because i love the 80's, but i don't know to me Rockstar lost the special touch the other 3 had, everything was funny even the radio commercials and the infamous Ammunation stores.."Shoot now pay later"...I really miss the style of old games
blowtorchrepair @ Nov 20th 2008 11:05AM
i hear ya'... GTA 4 is the first of the series that i've ever played, so i DL'd GTA S.A. to explore the history and it just isn't the same. often the first experience with anything of multiple volumes tends to become the trendsetter in the players mind... the online component of GTA 4 tho' is worth it alone, imo. peace out.
Mazrael @ Nov 20th 2008 11:07AM
Maybe in the DLC, they can fix the damn physics.. cars were overly bias towards wheels down, moments where the car should have rolled, just for it to flick back to it's wheels.. my car has actually been on it's side skiding topwards' & dropped back to it's wheels, when the tarmac would slow the side grazing against it causing it to roll on to its roof..
Sorry, there's all sorts of examples I could give.. back on last gen it was a little too loose, but it was fun
Oh & fix those 'psychic' cops too, always heading right towards you (or where you will be if your going fast) police just are not that good at their job!
Etchasketchist @ Nov 21st 2008 2:51AM
They're not going to fix any of that and nobody wants to hear anymore examples of whatever the hell you're talking about.
refinedsugar @ Nov 20th 2008 11:22AM
Wow, this long a wait, and not even a mention of more American titties. What a letdown.
Miguel @ Nov 20th 2008 11:37AM
Why do so many people hate on GTA IV so much. Although, I think San Andreas was better, I think IV is a great game.
But back on topic, this is kind of what I expected. It's basically a GTA IV Liberty City Stories.
mirage @ Nov 20th 2008 12:25PM
All of these "It should have come out whenever" comments are getting ridiculous! Sure we all would have loved for it to come out sooner, but Rockstar is notorious for delaying its games due to needing further development. It is not like the DLC is locked up in some vault just so YOU can't play it yet. THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON IT!!!
Bootleg Zani @ Nov 20th 2008 3:57PM
Well so much for waiting for this anytime soon. Time to go back to my many games I need to finish.
Riski2K9 @ Dec 1st 2008 6:28PM
Yes, I believe Rockstar have done an incredible job with 'GTA IV' debuting on the next-gen consoles; especially the 'Xbox 360' - (speaking on behalf of my console). In addition to this, the long awaited 'DLC', should just 'top the the cherry on the cupcake'. Keep it up, Rockstar.
