Street Fighter II HD pricing semi-announced

Now that we have a release date, Capcom decided it to be the opportune time to announce the pricing for remake Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Deep breath, because it isn't cheap.
According to Capcom's John Dianomon, SSFIITHDR will release to the Playstation 3's PSN for (drum roll) $14.99. True, this isn't an official price announcement for Street Fighter on the XBLA, but unless Capcom decides to sell it for a different price on each network, we think it's a safe bet that Street Fighter will cost Xbox gamers 1200 Microsoft points. A bit expensive, but re-drawing old sprites is no cheap task.

Let the bitching begin!
I'll wait for the reviews on this won. It's been so long that I've kinda lost interest and now have so many other things to play...

Or, you know, try the free demo.

You mean... "this one"...
I'd rather have HD sprites then blocky 3D... the new style looks kinda lame...(for the fourth game) Oh well guess we'll have to see how it plays.

@joeythebeast
I doubt the demo will be much more revealing than the beta, which I played a good deal of.

In my country the only way to buy things it's trough a Points card, and it's very difficult to get one here, i got a 4000 points card more than 8 months ago and i've just spent 2000 I'm saving the other 2000 for GTA4 DLC

1200 points are all fine and good, I understand its expensive to make this stuff. However, I think 800 points would have my purchase right away, since for me I am much more interested in the new SF coming out in Feb. With the economy sucking so bad many of us are being very frugal with our cash. For 800 i'd buy it before reviews, otherwise we shall see...

I'm suppose to get 20 bucks worth of points from circuit city. Sooooo. . .as long as they give me my gift card I should be set.
no worries, unless this was over 20

I don't understand the problem with the price.
I EXPECTED it to be this much.
They've been working on it for how long now?
And it even had a public beta!
I didn't even have the slightest expectation for this to be anything less than 1200, if not 1600.
And I am perfectly fine with that price.
It's well worth it IMO.
Refreshed graphics, online play, etc.
Yes please!

I never really have cared about the arcade games. I might try the trial out for Street Fighter 2 HD but I was never a big fan of Street Fighter and everytime there is this big hyped arcade game I'm disappointed after trying the trial.

nomadic0ne, I agree. While I don't want to pay $15.00 I thought it would go for 1600MS points. Honestly, this is a pretty good deal if the game plays as good as it looks.

While 1200MS points is reasonable... I swear when they announced the SF2HD remix that they stated it would cost 800MS points...

Because of this price, I'm not buying it. Go Banjo-Kazooie!
Maclintok @ Nov 21st 2008 6:13PM
With SF4 coming out February 09, they hardly priced this rehash competitively. The redrawn graphics do look slick and I can see how die-hard SF fans would be excited. I also feel the price point is taking those fans for a ride.
