Fable II conjures up 1.5 million in sales

Our advice to Peter Molyneux and the team over at Lionhead Studios is to take the day off and pop open some champagne corks, because Fable II's first two weeks of sales are something to celebrate.

Microsoft just revealed that 1.5 million copies of Fable II were sold worldwide during its first two weeks at retailers, with nearly 800,000 copies being sold in the U.S. Quite impressive sales figures that we're sure both Lionhead and Microsoft Game Studios are proud of. Now, all we have to wait for is the December release of the Knothole Island DLC to see how well Fable II's DLC sells.

Goes to show you that a ton of people were waiting for something good on the consoles that wasn't an FPS. I hope there is a Fable 3, so that Molyneux can finally make good on the promise of an "Open world" (Fable 2, while bigger than 1, is not all that "open") but I'm glad to have played Fable 2.

i'm sure it will come out on the Next XBOX - it will have a BD drive & large HDD so space will not be an issue, giving Molyneux the platform to make the Fable game he's envisioned :)

my guess for XBOX 720 specs:

8 Core General Purpose CPU, 3GB RAM, 6x BD Drive, 320GB-500GB 2.5" HDD, Built-In WiFi, 4-6 USB 3.0, HDMI 1.3 :)

Well thats something I wont be buying as ive just sold my copy of fable2...the game was a complete let down...I completed it in 1 week and in that week I was completely annoyed by the crappy AI residents of the town getting in the way and talking rubbish...then I lost my dog as a result of choosing 1 of the ending cards (which then caused me to be unable to complete certain quests!) and after all of the empty promises Lionhead gave us I was more than a little dissapointed with the whole package. Shame on you Lionhead...4 years to make the game, pfft dont make me laugh, I dont suppose it matters about that now as your all too busy dancing in a shower of pound notes!!

It's odd that you got voted down for disliking Fable 2. Are there really so many people that liked it? Personally, the only reason I haven't sold mine is that my girlfriend likes it.
I really thought it was going to be a different game and it ended up being a huge waste of money. I'm not going to go into the MASSIVE list of reasons I didn't like Fable 2, but only because I don't want to write a novel in the comments.

Seems people know quality when they see it. Square has not been putting out good RPGS this generation.

To all the people who complain about the shortness of it you are missing the point or just play too fast. Everytime I pop in the game I discover some small hidden area or cave. That IMO is just too much fun :D I think its one of the best 60$ I spent. However I still do not know where that stupid extra content LE dungeon is. Can anyone tell me ?
