James Silva's ZSX4 Guitarpocalypse now on Community Games
James Silva is one busy guy. First he creates The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai (which is coming "soon"), then he writes a book about how to make an XNA game, and now he's gone and created another game. To be specific, he's created a new Community Game called (ahem) Zombie Smashers X4 Guitarpocalypse. If you're hoping that we'll be able to explain the title to you, we're sorry to let you down. All we know is that you select a character, pick a guitar, and start smacking the crap out of the other three players. Gather enough energy and you can start banging out a wicked guitar solo (no, seriously) which (again, seriously) unleashes a powerful special attack.
Also, there's a cat that shoots fireballs from its eyes. So, essentially, this is the game design you used to scribble in your spiral during history class. Also, it's only 200 points ($2.50). Check out the trial version. Just try it.

I saw this yesterday, but the screenshots confused me beyond comprehension! It is only 200 points though...

Nice longcat ripoff. You'd think he'd use the original picture...

The cat in the game belongs to the creator. He took a picture of his own cat and put it in the game.
GoBob @ Nov 26th 2008 1:05PM
I mean, it's still an obviously longcat reference. I just think the original would have been a lot funnier. And seem less like he's leaching off a classic meme.
P7 @ Nov 26th 2008 1:11PM
It may be hard to believe but people have actually been picking up and holding cats for centuries.
DragonAce05 @ Nov 26th 2008 1:13PM
You, sir, are a hater
GoBob @ Nov 26th 2008 1:13PM
It's OK. I understand that originality is dead.
DragonAce05 @ Nov 26th 2008 1:19PM
Not sure I underatand your issue. The longcat wasn't shooting hellfire from its eyes. Would you have had less of a prob if the cat was sitting down? Or maybe if he used a dog?
GoBob @ Nov 26th 2008 1:26PM
You guys take this stuff way too seriously. Thanks for entertaining my by getting butthurt so easily!!
SadisticHam @ Nov 26th 2008 1:28PM
Andd in typical fashion he now pretends this was all on purpose to get people angry.
Not buying it Mr Bob.
P7 @ Nov 26th 2008 1:29PM
Butthurt? I think not. As a scholar of ancient feline companionship I feel it is my duty to say stupid, sarcastic things to people :)
GoBob @ Nov 26th 2008 1:32PM
You seriously didn't think that first post was obvious flamebait? Welcome to the internet.
Also, the Dishwasher wasn't a good game. Pretty bland.
P7 @ Nov 26th 2008 1:41PM
Flamebait eh? Sorry, my mistake. Just assumed you were another meme-spouting kid trying to look hip :P
GoBob @ Nov 26th 2008 1:42PM
Sorry, I know memes because I'm cool.
badarsemother3k @ Nov 26th 2008 5:12PM
Bob, I mean really to try and criticize someone for copying a meme that's just a bit pathetic. You do realize that to troll you usually don't make yourself look like a weirdo failchan lurker and you instead mess with people. In fact you should totally post more often cause it's really funny seeing literally every reply make you look like an idiot.
shawn @ Nov 26th 2008 1:20PM
played it,if i wanted to bang someone in the head with a guitar i would just go right ahead and do it :)
iFester @ Nov 26th 2008 1:31PM
Yes, but now the game will be blamed for your excessive violence. :D
shawn @ Nov 26th 2008 1:38PM
ROFL

This is an example of a game that I have a love/hate relationship with. Love the idea, love the insane cat that shoots fireballs from his eyes, hate the entire projects execution though.. lol
But... I am still tempted to spend the 200 points on it :\
KenC @ Nov 26th 2008 2:26PM
I like my violent games as much as the next person but I wanna see something not so violent, if all he puts out is that I may not end up spending money on his stuff. Every game is a violent game that he has made.

I sometimes feel like I'm the only one that didn't care for what I played of Dishwater Samurai. I don't like how it looked and it's such a chore to play. Every enemy has a ridiculous amount of hit points and it becomes a drag.
I'll try this, but admittedly I'm not super excited lol.

Is jelly car ever coming out?

A free version came out for the iPhone. It's actually pretty damn cool. Still waiting on an XNA release.
