Sony's Netflix library (mostly) available on NXE

About a week after they abruptly removed their entire Netflix library from streaming to the 360, Sony's Columbia Pictures has decided to allow NXE Netflix streaming of most of their content. Thank goodness, because most Netflix subscribing fanboys already had pitchforks in hand and their retaliatory plan of action laid out.
We can confirm that almost all of the Columbia Pictures Netflix content can now be streamed to the 360, but a few movies (including Superbad) are still being blocked. Hopefully the remaining content's licensing deals will get dealt with and all streaming media will be available in the next week or so. Fingers crossed.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

Movies from my queue that are still unavailable (at the risk of opening myself to ridicule):
Bad Boys
Next
Paprika
The Professional
Spider-Man 3
Vacancy
All are Starz Play titles. Curiously, though, Coupling and Fawlty Towers (British TV series) are now available indefinitely; they were set to expire Dec. 1...

Yeah, the BBC programs seem to have been set not to cancel, as 'Little Britain' and 'Keeping Up Appearances' also no longer say available until Dec. 1.
Also, the only movie showing not available on Xbox for me is 'Across the Universe', which I just watched on Blu-Ray, so I don't care anyway.

What the hell is that about, so you get programs made in Britain but people in Britain aren't allowed access to them????
I hope they offer this streaming service in the UK at some point and it doesnt become like our rubbish video marketplace where we still dont get tv shows.
I for one would use a service like this a LOT.
Anyone know of a petition?
Boff @ Nov 26th 2008 6:45AM
There's been talk of Lovefilm for films, but I think that's just a hopeful rumour to be honest. Not sure about the telly programs though. (Unless the series is already on DVD perhaps?)

If you want to petition just download what you need from a torrent site. Seems like the only way to get anybody to do anything in the entertainment industry.

Good for Sony, good to see that a bit of internet complaining can sometimes have an effect.
brandon @ Nov 26th 2008 8:53AM
yeah, i'm sure sony is really concerned with a bunch of morons complaining over the internet
OR it could just be a licensing deal and once those issues were settled, and the appropriate parties were paid, the service was opened up.
but feel free to bitch and moan about your conspiracy theories

Sweet, that's good news. I really wish more tv series were available though.
Also, you know what would be great, is if M$ could hook up a deal with the major sports leagues to enable you to watch recent games you missed.

That's great I hear but I'd really like to hear what movies are available for streaming in HD. Anyone know of a blog or something that has a list of movies in HD?
HazyCloud @ Nov 26th 2008 10:31AM
Netflix.com>Watch Instantly>Genres>HD
Antonio @ Nov 26th 2008 11:46AM
I don't see an entry for "HD" on the pull-down menu for Genres.

The odd thing is that, at one point, Superbad worked. I watched more than half of it on my 360. It certainly does look weird when these movies worked until the day NXE officially launched.
But whatever, I hope they all work eventually.
bcos @ Nov 30th 2008 12:31AM
WTF!!!!! It realeased these movies completely opposite for me. It pretty much only added Superbad but none of the other movies!!!!! I can only watch crap movies. Does anyone know what the problem is, or how to fix it? I'm desperate!!!!
