Video: Be taken away by the Mirror's Edge theme
As up in the air people's opinons of Mirror's Edge's gameplay is, one game aspect that most everyone can agree is superbly amazing is the theme song. Sung by Swedish rocker Lisa Miskovsky, the Mirror's Edge "Still Alive" theme music is so delightful to the ear drum that we've heard it be accurately compared to angels singing a broadway symphony. You know, hardcore gaming angels on a l33t broadway stage of death. Check out the official "Still Alive" video embedded above and let yourself be taken away ...

The key to making a good game: Make sure your theme song is titled 'Still Alive'

Stolen from my mind. LOL I have to agree with this guy 100%. I can not wait for the next next "Still Alive". Maybe from the new "Saturday Night Fever" Game. LOL

There is a Paul Van Dyk remix of this song which is also very nice on the ear drums.

Is anyone else reminded of Dreamfall when they hear this song?
And as good as this song is, it's hard to top GlAdOS!

What percentage of the profits will John Knoll be getting from this video?

If I know what you mean, wink wink

I thought the same thing and I've only played the demo.
The song isn't that bad, but I think it would probably be better instrumental.
Mazrael @ Nov 26th 2008 2:20PM
I never noticed it had lyrics to start with (in the game) seemed so repetitive on this video though..
there's only one & half thing.. the really dire AI.. it doesn't act or react the way it should. I played through with out firing a weopon, the way I felt it should be played.. I just felt DICE got bored a couple of levels it and wanted to make another rubbish shooter
K Fed @ Nov 26th 2008 2:23PM
This video reminds me of sommer morning in Chicago...random..
Barron @ Nov 26th 2008 2:33PM
I thought Alcorus - Shine was the theme song...? It's the song without vocals. RIPPED
lysernix @ Nov 26th 2008 2:43PM
This is just what I was going to say... i think they *did* use this song in one of the trailers or the early gameplay videos... seems like I read something about them having trouble getting a license... the author pulled out or something.
Well yeah... check out Alcorus - Shine -- good song. I guess this one here (Still Alive) is ok too, but definitely borrows heavily from A-S.
Barron @ Nov 26th 2008 2:50PM
Yeah, Shine is without a doubt better than Still Alive in my opinion; but I don't understand how they can borrow so heavily from Alcorus without a license.
Ian @ Nov 27th 2008 4:04AM
I thought it was the case that Alcorus initially claimed to have written it, which was strenuously denied by DICE and EA, and then it seemed that it was probably just fan-made rearrangement...
Let's face it, the Alcorus - Shine track has unbelievably cheap production and sounds more like a demo than anything. It may be that this was the inspiration for the theme, only time will tell, but anyone saying that Alcorus' version was the one used in the gameplay trailers needs their ears examining. Completely different productions and arrangements...
It's officially written and produced by Arnthor Birgisson and Rami Yacoub of the Maratone writing and production team in Sweden (who have also worked on tracks by Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Pink and Westlife), who have worked with Lisa Miskovsky in the past.
cloud858rk @ Nov 26th 2008 4:44PM
It's a decent song. I wouldn't listen to it, personally.
Matt @ Nov 26th 2008 6:45PM
Check this out, was at a club at the weekend and guess what they played!....

This was (hardly) a triumph
I'm making a note here, "Huge success (not really)"
It's (not that) hard to overstate my satisfaction
...continue on in this fashion until you feel you've made your point.
mergedwarrior @ Nov 27th 2008 10:40AM
Video was kinda lame. Great song though. Sexy singer too. She looks better in jeans... or without them.
wiilover @ Nov 29th 2008 6:56PM
She is as beautiful as her voice too! If not more
