Shipping this week: Scaling, scailing edition
With week after week of nothing but big releases (and a short breather last week) it looks like it's finally time to round out the big holiday gaming schedule. The biggest release this week is, without a shadow of a doubt, Prince of Persia. After the Prince took a questionable turn to the Dark Side (which followed his jaunt to the Emo Side), Ubisoft decided the entire series needed a refresh and the result is available this week. Here's hoping the Prince manages to scale those obstacles with panache and aplomb rather than falling to his death with all the grace of a stone. Here are all of this week's releases:
- Prince of Persia
- Destroy All Humans! Path Of The Furon
- The Tale of Despereaux

Any idea how Prince of Persia is going to be? I have not found too much, but from what is out there it seems like it will be good. I might wait though, find it for cheap later. I found some sweet deals in stores last weekend. Dead space for 30 bucks. Nice.

Man, I almost cried when I saw Deadspace for 30 at Target, lol. It was all gone tho. : (
PoP is gonna be great! 4 reviews so far saying it's just polished and enjoyable to play. I think you can still preorder to upgrade to the Limited Edition version with no extra charge.

I've heard a lot of people say it was fun to play. I'm still on the fence though, it doesn't look too thrilling to me. Also there is an achievement for not dying 100 times in the game, and all the reviews I've read say it's hard to get. That means I'm likely going to die 100+ times? Doesn't sound like fun to me :\

You can't die in this game. The achievement is called "Be Gentle with Her" and it's achieved if you let the girl save you less than 100 times.
It's difficult because it's an achievement. That's why they are called "achievements" because you go out and achieeeeeve something. These things aren't given to you.
So, are you really telling me now you won't try the game because of one silly achievement?

The first Prince of Persia (well, the first on this generation) was pretty awesome. I loved the Arabian Nights feel of it, but I felt that as the series went on, it just got dated, fast. I'm hoping this reboot brings back some of the magic of that one.
