Fall Out Boy is your (and our) Artist of the Month

Love 'em. Hate 'em. Kinda-sorta are okay with them, it doesn't matter, because Fall Out Boy is the December Xbox Live Artist of the Month.

Fall Out Boy's AoTM honors come in the wake of their upcoming album release Folie à Deux which includes their recently released single "I Don't Care" which coincidentally is already available as Rock Band DLC. As with all Artist of the Month bands, new and old video content will is available for download off the Marketplace. Interesting album art, eh?

Ill use the word gay in anyway I feel like it. Thanks for the tip though but I dont need a grammar teacher. Gay has a few meanings and in my use, I mean it in atleast two different ways.
Gay as in homosexual and gas as in lame. So in my opinion Fall Out Boy is a very GAY group. Hope I cleared that up for you.

I agree completely with Fx.Dr... and would add that in general most gamers have fucking terrible taste in music.

I base that entirely on anecdotal evidence collected via conversations on xbox live and comments on music-related posts on videogame blogs, but will stand by the statement 100%.

I'm glad somebody said it. Just because you like Fall Out Boy doesn't mean you don't like other music.

I have a wide array of music that I really appreciate, and it ranges from Sigur Ros to Norma Jean to Fall Out Boy.

I also found this news interesting and worth reading, as I didn't know they had a CD coming out. So suck it.

Nothing draws my ire more than dickheads who bitch about Fall Out Boy. To say that they aren't musicians because they don't play the type of music you listen to is patently absurd.

It's times like these that make me really hate the internet. And it makes me ashamed of being a gamer. I can't stand the thought of being part of the same community as some of you people.

And it's not because I'm a Fall Out Boy fan. It's because I could have sworn we'd be better than this by now. It's really no wonder we get no respect. I'm not sure we deserve it.

So when someone expresses dislike of something that you like... they're automagically dickheads? As far as I can see there's only one commenter who said that what they produce is not music, a single commenter, who was being just as huffy as you are. I think everyone understands that to get signed to a major label obviously requires a degree of technical skill, clearly they are musicians. No, our gripe is more with the quality of the music they pump out. It's heavily produced commercial pop-punk. If that's your thing, fine, but don't get pissed when people aren't into commercial pop, most adults aren't.

And let me ask you... better than what? A group of people who have differing opinions on music, and specifically a rather low opinion of a band you're into? I fail to see how us not liking Fall Out Boy has anything to do with the amount of respect gamers do or do not deserve, please explain.

And for the record, before you rip me a new one please just know that I caught the music bug when i was 14 and have been obsessed ever since. 16 years later I've got over 1,000 albums between LP and CD, and can more than double that number if you want to include my MP3 collection. I don't restrict myself to genres either; I'm sorry but you'll find you can't blame my dislike of Fall Out Boy on anything other than the work they've produced.

No. I'm not a Fall Out Boy fan. I thought I made that clear by saying "And it's not because I'm a Fall Out Boy fan" but I can see how that could be misconstrued.

And even if there was only one person who said they aren't musicians, there were a good ten or twelve who called them "gay" or "homosexual" or whatever the hell else. That's what got me.

No, I'm not gay. But I'm sure saying that won't stop "hrolf" from making another homophobic 'joke'.

So, to answer the question that you went on to answer yourself: No. Not better than people who disagree about music. I'm fine with that. But not everybody handles it the way you did. Read the thread. Everyone's first impulse is to hurl epithets.

What I meant was that I thought we'd be past the point of calling everything "gay" by now.

Whatever. I'm not 16. Most likely it's just time for me to grow up and leave you kids to it.
