Nyko's 'Metal Pedal' for RB and GHWT takes licking, keeps kicking
Have you be cursed with the world's heaviest feet? Do you leave footprints in concrete? Do you go through Rock Band or Guitar Hero bass pedals like tissue paper? If you answered yes to the third question, Nyko has your solution, the Metal Pedal. The pedal is compatible with Guitar Hero: World Tour as well as both the original Rock Band and Rock Band 2 and is metal plated to stand up to your torturous kicking. Unfortunately, the Metal Pedal isn't hitting stores until January 2009, so you'll have to wait a bit before you can fork over the $20 price tag. Of course, as Joystiq notes, you could always try the DIY alternative, the Pedal Metal.
Now, if you answered yes to the first two questions, well, you're on the wrong website. Sorry.

Second sentence should read "Do you leave footprints in CONCRETE?" Cement is only one of many ingredients that make up concrete.

Didn't realize we had a contractor in the audience. Fixed.

This pedal looks a joke. I'm using the Blockhead pedal now, and it's the best.

Far from best.

Sometimes "best" is relative to me. $20 is fine, $75 plus $13 shipping? No thanks.

For retail, that is. I should've clarified. Obviously, THE pedal is the destroyer. You can't buy that at Best Buy, so it's not a viable option for those of us with low income. :)

I got a Pedal Metal after I broke my first RB1 pedal, and I've never looked back. Now, having played RB1 and RB2 drums on hard, my pedal is still going strong. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Yeah the pedal metal is a completely necessary upgrade for every fake drummer out there. My original pedal actually lasted the better part of a year, but when it broke pedal metal came to the rescue. As you said, couldn't recommend it enough.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Dec 4th 2008 6:10PM
Hmm.. Soo couldn't you get a splitter, get two of these and have a double kick pedal?
AltCtrlPwn @ Dec 4th 2008 7:58PM
Yeah, you can do that. If you hit one pedal while the other one is depressed, however, it won't register; don't know if that really affects anything, until you get to anything insanely fast.
