Forget February, Halo Wars set for U.S. release on March 3rd

Admittedly, Microsoft may have promised those of us in North America that we'd be getting Halo Wars sometime in February. But now, with the worsening economy, lower fuel costs and location of Mars in relation to Jupiter, the game will actually release to retail in the U.S. and Canada the first week March. Europe and everyone else on the globe are still set for a February Halo Wars release. Lucky monkeys.
Officially, Halo Wars will release to "the Americas" on March 3rd, to EMEA territories on February 27th, and to Japan and Asia on February 26th. Europe and Japan, you win this round.

Mais non!
Filiandor @ Dec 8th 2008 1:54PM
This is rare! Not often Europe gets a realese before the US on a popular game!
ScottishPrik @ Dec 8th 2008 1:55PM
I'm confused. Why are we getting it before "the Americas"?
Dustin Burg @ Dec 8th 2008 2:03PM
The world may never know.
mike.delgadillo @ Dec 8th 2008 2:36PM
I'm confused too since American developers created the game, maybe it's Microsoft in India making the decision.

I'm assuming it has something to do with Lucifer's domain having its first winter frost.

Oorah..!
Can't complain.. I'll have mine the day before.. but don't know when I'll get around to play it.. hopefully it has two campaigns.. C&C style..
mirage @ Dec 8th 2008 2:33PM
Their you go world! MSoft is throwin' you a bone. Now you must stop complaining about EVERYTHING ELSE getting released in the "Americas" first. Oh, and throw in the Video Marketplace while we're at it. ;)
whocares @ Dec 8th 2008 2:48PM
Cool, Europe benefit for once, wonder if US of the A will get a little cheeky extra content when theirs arrives
pacokorn77 @ Dec 8th 2008 3:01PM
I guess them delaying the US release has something to do with how terrible the 360 is still doing in Japan...moving units or something like that.
TORO @ Dec 8th 2008 3:41PM
last I heard we were beating Sony in sales on their own turf
wowee @ Dec 8th 2008 3:33PM
Probably still gonna be released to torrent online on the 26.. if not sooner. So I'll still be getting my fix with the rest of the world.
SadisticHam @ Dec 8th 2008 7:31PM
You're everything that's wrong with the world.
Die.
ihatereading @ Dec 8th 2008 3:34PM
Probably a smart move to push it back so they wont have to go against Killzone 2 on the 27th.
SadisticHam @ Dec 8th 2008 7:30PM
America is Microsoft's strongest area, why they'd delay a game in there of all places in fear of greyzone 2 makes no sense, it'd make more sense if they delayed it in Europe because it's mostly Sony land.
Timerider @ Dec 8th 2008 5:00PM
Japan wins every round.
akfresh @ Dec 8th 2008 5:42PM
Good job. We deserve it. Us Brits and Europeans have to wait at least 3 days after you on most titles.
Jim @ Dec 8th 2008 6:35PM
Yea....i am actually happy, march 3rd is my bday
budzyboy22 @ Dec 8th 2008 7:07PM
So wait... although the game is made in the US it is going to be delayed in the US??? No sense. But im not planning on buying Halo Wars. I only like the first person part of it. I dont like the idea of shifting over to the board game type of view. Im waiting for ODST. That looks like its gonna be a good game.
MichaelO @ Dec 8th 2008 9:42PM
March 3rd is my Bday so even better.
