Needs more Johnny Cash.
Rick @ Dec 8th 2008 3:28PM
Was it really necessary for them to announce this sooner than they normally would? Now i have to sift through disappointment much longer till they announce the next week after DLC.
I wouldn't mind Josh Turner or Josh Gracin tho, which is the only two country artists i can stand listening to.
If they are going to do country, why not christian music next? Skillet and some more Kutless?
glenncou @ Dec 8th 2008 3:42PM
It was posted early due to CMT beginning commercials this week for it, so Harmonix decided to go ahead and announce it early.
Rick @ Dec 8th 2008 3:49PM
Ah, alright then. Thanks for the answer.
I am glad to see new genres are popping into RB. It gives a good outlook as to anything may be on the horizon.
AxFactor @ Dec 8th 2008 3:50PM
2nd on the Skillet and Kutless
HazyCloud @ Dec 8th 2008 3:28PM
I welcome new genres to RB. Next I'd like to see reggae. No, not Slightly Stoopid or Pepper. Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.
Deezul @ Dec 8th 2008 3:58PM
And make sure you to include the stereotypical Jamaican accent on that post as well, Dustin...
Dustin Burg @ Dec 8th 2008 4:02PM
I'll try ;D

About time! The Miranda Lambert song will be fun as well as the Brooks & Dunn one. Brad Paisley is a great guitarist, but maybe a different song like "Start a Band" would have been a better choice

They should have came out with a stronger list so they could actually sell some. I love country music, but would buy 2 of these songs. Guitar hero needs some country music.
Gorgula @ Dec 8th 2008 4:11PM
class action in regards to the title of the game please...
tim @ Dec 8th 2008 4:20PM
god i hate country. especially "modern country." i loves me some cash, though. would also accept neslon and various hank williams family members.
Joshua @ Dec 8th 2008 4:30PM
yeah, As much as I would love it, I don't see them adding much Hank III ...
"here to put the Dick in Dixie... and the Cunt back in Country... " ... would be a blast...
Weclock @ Dec 8th 2008 4:43PM
seriously!
RotNRollHunter @ Dec 10th 2008 5:00PM
Hank III FTW! J. Cash would be great. What I wanna see is some more indie folk too, Drive by Truckers would be a great addition. I'm still waitin' on Pantera though...
Daniel @ Dec 8th 2008 4:47PM
While the type of modern country in these songs is far from my favorite genre, I more than welcome it. My wife is a big country music fan, and anything that will get her to play some more Rock Band with me is more than fine in my book.
Though I do echo some of the sentiment that Harmonix should offer a bit more variety in the genre. Some Hank Jr, Cash, or even Old Crow Medicine Show would be downright awesome.

Country music actually makes me physically ill. I hate it with a passion, and I can't believe they've sullied a great game with this crap. WTF were they THINKING????? If they want to do this that badly, then make a game called "Country Band", so the people who have good taste in music can avoid it like the plague, and the inbreeders (who also happen to like the Cabela fishing and hunting games) can buy "Country Band", and wallow even more in their stupidity. Keep your crappy music, Harmonix, we prefer to keep our IQ's intact!
khan800 @ Dec 8th 2008 10:36PM
I can't stand country music either, but...
The great thing about Rock Band is you don't ever have to listen to, or play these songs. If you don't download them, you won't have them to play, and if you play online with others who have them, they can't select them.
So how does this sully your game again?
Mike @ Dec 8th 2008 6:47PM
Is this for RB 1 or RB 2 or can you DL the songs for either one of the versions?
Rick @ Dec 8th 2008 6:56PM
Buy any song and it'll work in both RB1 and RB2
Flakundenga @ Dec 8th 2008 11:34PM
Nice. I like country but I'd have loved if they had added Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift to the mix. More than anything though I'll like more genres say some spanish songs wouldn't hurt :P
Ujn Hunter @ Dec 9th 2008 11:45AM
Dierks is the bomb yo!
Mike @ Dec 16th 2008 2:58PM
I am open to any genre coming to RB, especially country. While they may not be my favorite country songs ( and i do think they can do better) i will still check them out. I don't understand why people throw such a gripe over the new DLC. You can never satisfy all with one release so why not wait your turn until something comes out that fancies you. If you wanna throw a fit, why not complain about the price. You may already own the song on personal CD's now you have to pay another $2 for each song?
