Shipping this week: Black hole edition

The holiday gaming season, for the 360 at least, is over. After the accumulation of so many good games over the last several months, it seems the accumulation of worthwhile titles has become so massive that it's collapsed into itself, forming a black hole of new releases. What we're getting at, you see, is that there are no new releases this week. Not one. Not even a game based off of a holiday kids' movie. Nothing. Nada. We suggest you take this week to organize yourself. If you're anything like us, you still have a pile of games to finish, so get to it. And remember, there's nothing better to bring a family together during the holidays than a good video game. Also, strangely enough, there's nothing better to help you avoid family during the holidays than a good video game.

It's good either way, really.

That's ok. I've been playing Super Mario RPG on my Wii. I've been going old school lately, and it feels pretty good.

There are new releases this week on my xbox. I have a stack of games I picked up for cheap on the black friday weekend that have yet to see the inside of my xbox. So, they are not new releases, but they are still new to me. After exams finish next Friday, I will not see the light of day till January when classes start back up.

I have finals this week. And after these are done, the real work begins. I have a lot of games to beat over Christmas break.

I've just about finished with Fallout 3 after sinking 40+ hours into that one, then I need to play Fable II and Dead Space... plus Mirror's Edge and the Last Remnant are on the horizon.

Not to mention that I may take a short break from the 360 and finally play all of the Metal Gears Solid games (1-3 anyway), so yeah, I don't so much mind this break. I need to catch up.

Not to mention I'm leveling a character in World of Warcraft... yikes.
