Xbox 360 Fancast 094 -- Nein Xander
Let's get one thing straight: We miss Alexander. He's off in some foreign land enjoying exotic foods and strange power outlets. Meanwhile, the rest of us are just sitting around like total schlubs. Then again, we did get to play the Resident Evil 5 demo, so that's good. We also got to record a Fancast, which we now present to you (commercial free!). They say hindsight is 20-20, and we're just now realizing we wasted a golden opportunity to talk behind his back during the show. Shucks. Download our latest below.

I was watching a hands on of Killzone 2 recently on X-Play. Sure it looks good, but i don't see it as something groundbreaking.
But what was different is their multiplayer. they had no menus to switch game types, it happened dynamically. not sure how that will go over with gamers.
I wish sony would understand something about multiplayer. More does not mean better. 64, 256 player? awesome.. and talk about a cluster f.

Forgot how much I looked forward to the fancast last week. Can't wait to hear this one later.
While we are on the subject of missing bloggers, whatever happened to Terrance?

Alexander gone? Best Podcast ever.
Chandler Greenwood @ Dec 8th 2008 10:32PM
Yes! My sanity pill has arrived!

Ah, if only there was NO Alexander, I would really enjoy the podcasts again. It's not been the same since David Dreger left. Remember when Alex was a "special" guest and not a regular? Ah, the good ole days of '07.

It's not "Nein Xander", if you mean that it's not got any Xander in it... it's "Kein Xander". Or "Ohne Xander" ("without"). "Nein Xander" means you're saying "No" to Xander... and needs a comma.
Sentox6 @ Dec 8th 2008 11:40PM
Wouldn't it be correct in the sense that they're saying "[there is] no Xander"? Or does 'nein' only function as a verb?
At any rate... best picture ever. Would see X3F story on opening night :P
German Pedant @ Dec 8th 2008 11:46PM
"Nein" just means "no" - did you go to work today? "Nein", I stayed home to play with my Keflings. "Kein" is "there isn't any". "Kein Problem!" is "no problem", etc.
Sentox6 @ Dec 9th 2008 4:25AM
In that case, there's not really a mistake here. They're not saying no to Xander, they're saying there is no Xander; so nein is being employed as an adjective, not a verb.
Perhaps it's not the most ideal of constructions, but it's not necessarily broken, either.
Richard Mitchell @ Dec 9th 2008 2:15PM
It's really just a play on the word Einhander, guys. No need for the grammar lesson :)
RedSonRising @ Dec 9th 2008 12:27PM
thats what its come to now, correcting bad german grammar? very, very boring..
anyway, thanks for the cast this week. turkey withdrawal is bad enough, no fancast last week absolutely killed my monday afternoon..
ill probably dub something for the 100th podcast this week if my macbook starts working again.. shoulda recorded before i unsuccessfully formatted the hdd.
im actually in the apple store now tryin to get it looked at.. probably pissin off the employees blowing up XBOX360FANBOY.COM on the massive apple display.. maybe ill check xbox.com and queue up some downloads for later too..
Sentox6 @ Dec 9th 2008 1:29PM
We used to have fanboy wars, but the Wii has just left the fight and taken over its own continent, and the PS3 worshippers have been left with about as much live ammunition as a civil war reenactment.
Grammar is all we got left :(
Richard Mitchell @ Dec 9th 2008 2:17PM
And spelling! Don't forget spelling.
RedSonRising @ Dec 10th 2008 3:09PM
ahh yes, the god ol' days of flamewars and caps locked arguments: damn you nintendo..
Eric H. @ Dec 9th 2008 5:43PM
Pretty sure that's the best picture of Richard ever.
