Halo still rules Xbox Live, community games now included

There's a new top games of Xbox Live list up over at MajorNelson.com and, for the second week in a row, Halo 3 is sitting atop all other Xbox 360 games. That includes Gears 2 and World at War. Funny thing about World at War, this past week it actually beat out Gears 2 for the second most played game on Live. Poor Marcus, he never had a fighting chance ...
This week, Major also brings us a new weekly top ten list of Community Games, which should help you weed through game candidates and give you a weekly list of hot games. You know, hot games like Mr. Silva's ZSX4 Guitarpocalypse which made it into the top five.

*in before CoD fanboys*
Remember guys...this list doesn't really matter.
jeff @ Dec 9th 2008 3:27PM
Have you guys played ZSX4 Guitarpocalypse. Its terrible. Are you so blinded by your Silva love that you do not see the D-Movie turd he released onto the community games.
iamnotafish @ Dec 9th 2008 3:42PM
Yes!! OMG that was the worst attempt at a Super Smash Brothers style game I've ever come across. Such a waste of 15 megs.
AjDaChipmunk @ Dec 9th 2008 4:31PM
This screams Super Smash Bros
Big Filth @ Dec 9th 2008 3:31PM
no offense dustin, but really, who gives a shit?
Dustin Burg @ Dec 9th 2008 3:48PM
The internets does.
brian @ Dec 9th 2008 3:58PM
I do.
RazLeBoL @ Dec 10th 2008 9:22AM
Seems like someone is bitter.
Highimpact1 @ Dec 9th 2008 3:42PM
Well probably gamers give a shit. Anywho I think I'll pop on Halo right now, and add to those hours...
Edog @ Dec 9th 2008 3:48PM
Gears 2 is still broken. The shotty is nerfed, the chainsaw is too overpowering and the way muti-online is setup is to constricting. Oh yeah...lag to the tenth power (My connection is 3-6 MB/s). No wonder GOW2 dropped in online play. I'm playing L4D until all these are fixed. I guess others feel the same way.
Rick @ Dec 9th 2008 3:48PM
Players choosing Halo 3 over Gears 2. What could the reason be...
1) Too exhausted from pissing and moaning online about waiting an extra minute or two for a Gears 2 match to start.
2) Missed the soothing blandness of the Halo 3 soundtrack.
3) Spent too much time pissing and moaning online about people making light of their pissing and moaning online about waiting an extra minute or two for a Gears 2 match to start.
4) Practicing to "PWN NOOBZ" in Halo 3 Major League Gaming event while not realizing that becoming a professional video game player is pretty sad.
5) Too busy spending time coming up with a good zinger reply to this post.
6) All of the above.
blackarmy @ Dec 9th 2008 3:52PM
Que?
Fargus @ Dec 9th 2008 3:55PM
and how about your list for why people are playing World at War over Gears 2?
Rick @ Dec 9th 2008 3:59PM
Just replace Halo 3 with Call of Duty: World at War, duh.
Jcarpio @ Dec 9th 2008 4:05PM
Or maybe because they're realizing all the morons like you are playing other games and they came back.
See just read comment and replied.. not too difficult.
Michael @ Dec 9th 2008 4:20PM
Did you ever stop and think
"Halo 3 is a good game, and that's why everyone plays it," because it seems that way to me..
Rick @ Dec 9th 2008 4:22PM
Haha, you can keep your Halo 3.
AjDaChipmunk @ Dec 9th 2008 4:37PM
#4 Yeah, because Gears of War isn't an MLG game huh.... FAIL.
Dragod @ Dec 9th 2008 6:50PM
Your perception of Major League Gaming is incredibly distorted. Serious MLG players don't "PWN NOOBZ", they play Customs with other players and, for the most part, stay out of Match Making.
Paying bad CoD sequels would make anyone want to play a game series that has been proven great time and time again.
I enjoy Halo 3, and honestly, I don't really care if you do or not.
amart @ Dec 10th 2008 10:31AM
lol this 'rick' guy is a real idiot. You're probably an eight year old introvert... good one.
Perno @ Dec 9th 2008 3:50PM
I give a sh!t Dustin...I give a sh!t.
Ham @ Dec 9th 2008 3:54PM
Good, i hope gears of war 2 drops right off the list. Maybe then Epic will fix it and by fix it i mean remove all the shit they changed, put it back to gears 1 and just tone the shotgun down a bit, that was the sole problem.
Vcize @ Dec 9th 2008 4:30PM
You are my hero.
blackarmy @ Dec 9th 2008 3:54PM
Shotgun being nerfed doesn't bother me too much.
Games taking 10 mins (not exagerating either) to start bothers me a lot.
BUT what takes the gravy train, 2 shot guns to the face and still chain saw connects?
This is why i'm not playing Gears 2. And I used to play up to several hours a day on Gears 1.
brian @ Dec 9th 2008 3:59PM
'This is why i'm not playing Gears 2. And I used to play up to several hours a day on Gears 1.'
That is a problem in and of itself.
Irwin @ Dec 9th 2008 4:02PM
lol You think you're clever eh? Good job with that number 5 choice of yours.
I'm sorry, it isn't just an extra minute or two. It's more like 5 minutes and more. Sometimes it's pretty fast like a few seconds, but most of the time it takes retardedly long.
Why are you singling out people that want to play a different game than you? I think that is way more sad than #4(which isn't even sad at all. if some of those guys can make 200,000+ a year, what's your problem? Are you jealous? No random retard can go and become professional.)
bioadam @ Dec 9th 2008 4:14PM
It seems likely that the double dose of "Call of Duty ____" games has fractured the community of virtual murderers. I prefer my multiplayer victims/killers to look like inhuman androids, or at the very least, faceless cyborgs. So Halo 3 stays tops with me too.
PeterF @ Dec 9th 2008 5:56PM
Spartans aren't cyborgs, there are people in those suits.
bioadam @ Dec 9th 2008 10:57PM
Now you tell me :(
Courtney @ Dec 9th 2008 4:22PM
Holy crap, number 10 on the community games sales is "Swords and Monsters." Who knows, maybe that means it sold like 3 copies, but what the hell? Who would buy that, and why? I got a giggle out of the demo, but the demo encompasses the full experience. It's the equivalent of clicking three times in a browser window.
Weird. But props to whoever made it for making even a little money on very little work.
Easo @ Dec 9th 2008 4:48PM
Yeah, I think Gears should be changed back to the way it was. The only thing they did right with Gears 2 multiplayer was tone down the shotgun.
The blast effect from the smoke needs to go. The chainsaw is unstoppable at close range and I shouldnt have to point out that waiting 10 mins for a match to start means the matchmaking system is broken.
Epic is killing Gears and the numbers prove it.
yyr @ Dec 9th 2008 6:31PM
Just letting you all know that there are now three Snake360 Holiday Contests running, with $450 in Microsoft Points and Xbox LIVE Gold subscriptions as prizes! If you haven't tried the game yet, now would be a good time!
You can get more info on the contests or the game at www.snake360.com.
dylan @ Dec 9th 2008 10:21PM
WOOOOO! Go Halo 3!
MizzouGamingInc @ Dec 10th 2008 2:44PM
You know Gears of War 1 is still live. If you want that it is there for ya. I absolutely hated the shotgun rolling domination found in Gears 1. Everyone played the same round the exact same way. I can understand the outcry over the toned down shotty, because the most dedicated to this game had it perfected, but it really took out improvisation that I feel exists in Gears 2.
RazLeBoL @ Dec 10th 2008 9:25AM
I didn't really play gears 1 online but the shotty still feel pretty strong in 2. It's definitely the best option up close.
