Nov NPD: 360 wins big with Gears 2 and WaW

No need for analyst predictions, the official November '08 NPD numbers are in and we have a hunch Microsoft is more than satisfied with the 360's sales success last month.

With the help of new triple A titles and a relatively low price, Xbox 360 sales totaled 836K units, while the Playstation 3 was only able to sell 378K. No surprise, the Nintendo Wii trumped all hardware sales, selling an astonishing 2.04 million consoles during the month. Looking at software sales, Gears of War 2 was the big winner with 1.56 million copies getting gobbled up from retailers, which isn't as hugely huge as was initially speculated, but still big. World at War's 1.41 million copies and Left 4 Dead's 410K were also surprising sales standouts. Check the break for the November NPD video game hardware sales and the top ten game sales.
