Video: First look at GTAIV's Lost and Damned

Not only did last evening's Spike Video Game Awards bring Gears of War 2 DLC news, it also brought us our first look at Grand Theft Auto IV's upcoming Lost and Damned episodic expansion. Just as promised. You can view the exclusive Lost and Damned trailer after the break and begin pondering whether 1600 Microsoft points is worth admission into a biker gang. Truth be told, you'll get some fashionable leather apparel, but the motorcycle speeds wreak havoc on the health of your hair. We're talking split ends.

Dopesn't look like any zombies are going to be showing up. I'll get it regardless though, need another reason to jump bak into GTA IV.
Clark Parker @ Dec 15th 2008 11:32AM
Indeed... It seems my dreams for a zombie apocalypse have died with this trailer... Ahh well, it still looks pretty badass and at least one part of the theory was correct... They are bringing the anarchy back in a big way.
Halo2Master @ Dec 15th 2008 9:40AM
Looks pretty sweet, will definitely be picking this one up.
Of course, what I would really love to see would be some sort of geographical expansion. Flying planes in San Andreas was awesome, and I would love to have a world big enough so that flying planes made sense.
slint @ Dec 15th 2008 10:48AM
It's a well known fact that planes aren't in GTA because of 9/11. Only way you could get them in is if you made, as you say, another land area, then restrict flying in the city. Which is lame.
Halo2Master @ Dec 15th 2008 11:51AM
@Slint: Huh? How "well-known" is that? I've certainly never heard that before, do you have a source?
Also, the original GTA 3 came out very shortly after 9/11. All subsequent releases were obviously post-9/11. If they could have planes in San Andreas, why not in GTA 4? There is no equivalent to the WTC in Liberty City, as far as I know. I thought the reason for no planes was just the geographical size of the city, which determines the scope of the game in many ways.

Goodtimes, but do you think we will see more DLC down the road? For GTA IV, Fable 2, or Fallout 3 other then whats coming out now?
birdshake @ Dec 15th 2008 11:07AM
I don't know about GTA4 and Fable 2 but I've read that Fallout 3 is planning on having about 4 DLC releases within the next year, the first being in January.
skin.bintin @ Dec 15th 2008 3:10PM
Microsoft secured TWO exclusive DLC deals for GTA:IV, so no doubt there will be more at some stage.
Kilo720 @ Dec 15th 2008 10:38AM
im sorry but doesnt look all that interesting
kinda not living up to all the hype
Xerone @ Dec 15th 2008 10:42AM
Honestly, I can't wait for this. I love all the GTA games, IV especially. This will be a must buy!
dylan @ Dec 15th 2008 10:45AM
Hmmm, as I recall the worst part of GTA were the motorcycle missions, so...
Andrew L @ Dec 15th 2008 11:13AM
So Gordan Freeman was a biker before he became a scientist?
alindy @ Dec 15th 2008 11:14AM
That might explain his fondness for a crowbar.
Parallax @ Dec 15th 2008 12:44PM
I was just thinking the same thing.
Neoterixx64 @ Dec 15th 2008 11:15AM
This reminds me of Sons of Anarchy. Kind of cool, will check it out if I ever get through the original game.
JCP @ Dec 15th 2008 11:18AM
It looks good!, but my concern is how long is it ?
I dont want to pay 1600 points for a 4 to 5 hour episode, I want at least 20 hours out of it, I'd let them slide at 15 hours cause its rockstar, but anything less than that is a disappointment.
Xevious @ Dec 15th 2008 11:18AM
I've never bought any expansion packages ... will it come with Achievements?
dunnypop @ Dec 15th 2008 11:38AM
usually DLC = more achievements...
not sure how many achievements would come with this though.
On average each DLC pack for Halo was 250 points.
silentshadowxp @ Dec 15th 2008 12:19PM
This is a huge disappointment for me. I was hoping for a new city or something, but this seems very lackluster at best. And honestly, I'd rather have Niko in the expansion than a new character, I don't see why they didn't bring him back (unless the voice actor refused to come back). I have no interest in any of this whatsoever. With the amount of money Microsoft gave Rockstar, you'd think they could have come up with something more.
EMKO @ Dec 15th 2008 1:54PM
You didn't expect a whole new city from a DLC pack did you? You also shouldn't judge it before its even out. To add more missions for Niko would be hard and probably wouldn't be as good seeing how the game finished.
Anyway if this includes a good set of length and missions id be happy to buy it.
silentshadowxp @ Dec 15th 2008 3:19PM
Yes, I did expect an entire city from the DLC. Oblivion got Shivering Isles, so I don't see why Rockstar couldn't have made a new city (even if it was smaller and had fewer missions). This doesn't seem like enough to me to merit the 20 dollars I would have to pay to download it. I stand by my previous statement 110%.
As for judging a game before I play it, it's kind of a necessity since gaming is an expensive hobby and I can't just go playing each and every game that comes out. Based on my knowledge of what I prefer, no amount of new missions is worth 20$ to me. Sure you supposedly also get new weapons and vehicles (which I don't think is necessary since there is already a great amount of each in the game), new music (which I don't care about since i can just play my own music), and new multiplayer modes, but this (to me) is not really worthy of 20$ when I would really only care about the new multiplayer modes (and that's not even necessarily the case since we still have no idea what the multiplayer additions are yet).
Overall, I feel that the only thing that would bring back my interest in GTA4 would have been a new city, but as I said before, this DLC is very lackluster.
deaddays @ Dec 15th 2008 12:40PM
Looks pretty sweet to me. Explores a culture they've only touched on before. I'm not too fond of said culture, but it looks pretty hardcore and if anyone can make it work, it's Rockstar. Plus it's new missions for GTA IV which is fun as all hell. I'll be picking this up on day one.
refinedsugar @ Dec 15th 2008 4:47PM
I never understood people hoping the DLC would involve zombies in some way. It's like what, you're not getting your fill from any other number of games / mods that feature zombies?
dylan @ Dec 15th 2008 8:44PM
There is no such thing as getting ones fill of zombies.
adamlugnut @ Dec 16th 2008 3:00AM
Is it just me or does this looks close to a popular show off of fx with said act Ron P....
EMaster @ Dec 16th 2008 6:33AM
Well, I personally can;t wait to get my hands on this! won't be too long (Q cash in hand a la Steve mobs keynote in the simpsons). I would like to see GTA Veer back to Vice City though and maybe explain what the hell happened to (or possibly a mission where you kill) Tommy Vercetti.
alonso @ Jan 12th 2009 5:34PM
Does somebody knows if planes, parachutes or tuning cars are ever going to appear again??
I really liked GTA san andreas(parachutes, airplanes and tuning) and I bought GTA IV because I thought this features will come with it. Well, at least the game is much more realistic!!!! but I really miss tuning
