Video: Possible future Avatar clothing options discovered
The diligent folks over at Xbox Avatar Life have uncovered some YouTube videos of ... enterprising Xbox users that have discovered lots of currently unavailable clothing and accessory options for Avatars. All told, there are three videos covering the various hats, tops, shoes, pants, skirts, accessories and hairstyles for both male and female Avatars. Now, keep in mind that we have no idea when, or even if these options will ever be released, so don't get your hopes up about any particuar options. Actually, we're just going to disregard our own advice and say we can't wait for the puffy shirt. Check out all three videos after the break.
Warning, this one has some NSFW music

(Squeal-like Seinfeld voice)Oh No, not the poofy shirt.
ice~ @ Dec 18th 2008 5:56PM
hahahahahhahah i remember that. +1 :D
Matt @ Dec 18th 2008 7:32PM
Thank you for that reference!
Destroyer88 @ Dec 18th 2008 5:48PM
Some pretty nice stuff. Hopefully we at least get the wife beater, sandals, black gloves and top hat.
ScottishPrik @ Dec 18th 2008 5:48PM
These options won't be released because they were created with mods. If you check the youtube vid.
Sairus @ Dec 18th 2008 8:58PM
Actually, I had most of these unlocked while I had the beta for the NXE. As soon as it went public they all disappeared though.
I even have an outfit saved with the hoodie and sneakers which I'm no longer allowed to select because it has locked clothes.
Cj @ Dec 18th 2008 5:49PM
Some nice clothes there! I hope its found out how to access these things early.
Jacob @ Dec 18th 2008 5:57PM
I thought we would get some game-inspired clothes. Like a Master Chief helmet. Or at least a logo t-shirt.
Alex @ Dec 19th 2008 11:25AM
Agent 47 costume complete with black leather gloves and a fibre wire?
horngreen @ Dec 18th 2008 5:57PM
I like NXE with the exception of Avatars. They're lame, take too long to load in the friends list and DO NOTHING BUT BURP. Is there any plan in the future to make the Avatars worth having?
Arnon @ Dec 18th 2008 9:43PM
They're already interacting with some Arcade games.. Not sure what else you want them to do.
Alex @ Dec 19th 2008 11:27AM
I hate them too. They should be optional, and less turd. There should be a way to make the heads in proportion to the rest of the body, not have such long hands when wearing long sleeved tops, have a less gay stance, load quicker and should NEVER replace gamer pictures.
Wikk3d @ Dec 18th 2008 6:02PM
Weren't these items available in the preview? I had that hooded sweater for awhile!
davidw @ Dec 18th 2008 7:02PM
THAT'S what it was!!!
I had the hoodie as well...changed it out, then when back to put it back on and noticed it wasn't there anymore...never tied it in with the preview!
Bennyishere @ Dec 19th 2008 12:35AM
Yeah, I was surprised to find they removed all of these with the official launch. It feels nice having super-exclusive clothes, though;

Hopefully the clothes will be brought back. There's some nice stuff there.
Ryan @ Dec 18th 2008 6:08PM
But I don't wanna be a pirate!
Aticus @ Dec 18th 2008 6:10PM
Lmao! I was thinking that myself when I saw the image XD.
MDJ2010 @ Dec 19th 2008 7:18AM
Ditto, lol.
smellypelly @ Dec 18th 2008 6:12PM
Id still like the ability to put tattoos on my avatar rather than naff, pointless clothing.
Or how about some "inhuman" looks like horns or devil wings, big clawed hands or something like that?! These `mii-too's` are just way too kiddy-ish for me to be really that bothered about them.
Maybe in the future they'll bring out some kind of Sims/xbox live/build your own home/interact with the rest of xbox live world game. (if you can make sense of that lol)
justin @ Dec 18th 2008 6:32PM
well.. u eva thought about getting a ps3 cause you just described everything thing in home... yall avatars are really pointless...
NOOK @ Dec 19th 2008 9:31AM
Ah, home ... they just disabled voice chat for the update, right? That's one tasty virtual world with no speech at all. Home: China Edition.
LeChuck @ Dec 19th 2008 3:16PM
That sounds a lot like PS Home.
hamdrew @ Dec 18th 2008 6:55PM
Microsoft should really let you change the colors of your clothes. It should've been one of the basic choices.
Turk645 @ Dec 18th 2008 6:57PM
I would have never known that my vids made its way to this site if someone never mentioned it on the vid comments XD.
dylan @ Dec 18th 2008 7:24PM
why the hell can you not just change the color of the shirt? this option has been around in character creation since before the original xbox, and having two pages to scroll through of the same damn ringer shirt in various colors is enough to turn my brains into scrambled eggs and come running out my nose from the idiocy...
hamdrew @ Dec 18th 2008 7:33PM
Amen man, It's common sense.
Mr. Nosuch @ Dec 19th 2008 8:52AM
Yeah, this one is so head-smackingly obvious, only Microsoft wouldn't do it. It would increase the amount of personalization available without them having to make more assets.
Duh.
pikelet @ Dec 18th 2008 8:05PM
You know what sucks? The preview had goddamn SHUTTER SHADES. I have them on my guest profile's avatar (bad caricature of Kanye West) and I'm pretty sure he's also wearing a hoodie that's no longer available (I think it was called 'pixel hoodie', looks like a BAPE one, hence why Kanye is wearing it).
Come on MS. BRING BACK SHUTTER SHADES~
Youthinized @ Dec 18th 2008 9:49PM
When I saw the top hat and him changing his hair black, I so thought he was gonna make slash.
RedSonRising @ Dec 19th 2008 1:36PM
hopefully 99% of those items will be free cause theres no way im paying for all those clothes..
the slow trickle we're getting now will probably look like a flood in a few months when they presumably cut off the tap and start charging for this stuff..
taz @ Dec 19th 2008 11:41PM
these clothes are from the preview program. the sunday before the nxe officially launched microsoft patched the nxe and took out a lot of clothes.
Jackjak @ Jan 14th 2009 10:44AM
Bomberman live's "costume balls" unlocks more clothes as well as many more game's.
Check the wikipedia article on it for the list of games.
Note: I know wiki is editable by anyone but everyne can dream can't they?
