Bungie treats us with Orbital screenshot goodies

Last week, Bungie teased us with a single screenshot of Halo 3's upcoming Orbital multiplayer map (one third of the Mythic Map Pack), and now today we're treated to much, much more.
Bungie just posted a Spartan sized bundle of Orbital screenshots (some new Assembly screens as well) that give us a pretty good taste of what multiplayer goodness Bungie has in store for us come the Mythic Map Pack's release. We've added the new Orbital screens to the gallery below, so feel free to browse and speculate about the awesomeness to come.

Looks good but I refuse to pay for new maps on what was a mediocre game. I refuse to pay for new maps period to be honest. Microsoft needs to go back to the old way of charging for the maps for a couple of months and then making them free so they can become part of the mainstream.

You know what's a killer? Paying a sixth of the game's price for 3 maps. Bleh.
Helloimbob @ Dec 23rd 2008 5:52PM
Or a half for 9.

"Yawn".
Halo 3 got extremely boring an extremely long time ago and none of the maps, including the DLC, have even come close to Halo:CE or Halo 2's maps so far. These maps are also taking forever and ever to be released meaning the bugger all interest I had is now getting even smaller if that's possible. I'm sick of hearing about them - more of Bungie's dumb teasers and hype for stuff that ends up being completely mediocre. I know MS have control over the release schedule but this is ridiculous, Bungie were harping on about how supposedly "cool" these maps were months and months ago. As a result of the wait like I say, I'm no longer interested.
I'll pass; however, as usual, the profits raked in from these maps means every Bungie employee will be able to buy two Bugatti Veyrons and still have spare change left over for coffee and a shiny new laptop to post unprofessional crap on their forums from.
The fanboys will never die, they will give Bungie every last penny.

those pictures... they're...
GORGEOUS!
Seriously, great job, Bungie. Best-looking maps I've ever seen. Oh, and all you halo haters: shut up and get a life. You sad, sad excuses for people.
UK31337 @ Dec 23rd 2008 6:07PM
I could say the same about you. You fap over pictures of a map and then tell us we're sad for not liking the game.
You sad fanboy.

"You sad fanboy"
...Says the man posting on Xbox360 Fanboy. What, should we talk about Resistance 2 or something?
I think these maps look awesome. Each map pack has been better looking than the previous. Here's hoping they finally reveal Sandbox on Friday.

I agree, Halo 3 is a gorgeous game that doesn't get the respect it deserves from ignorant fanboys.

Wow, how original... another Halo hater coming to a post about Halo and flapping his gums. People love this game... so what? Kudos to the developers for all their hard work in keeping this game fresh and letting fans enjoy it. The same can't be said for franchises like Guitar Hero and COD which seem to come out EVERY YEAR. I never said these are bad games... lets just get that straight right now. But dropping DLC to come out with a new one each year. Sounds like EA!!! So why don't you do everyone a favor and piss somewhere else!
I will pay for these maps cause these maps are not made for free and I love this game. Someone has to make them you greedy bastards... and unless you enjoy working for free... shut up or move on!

I thought there were 6 maps in the Mythic map pack
Fire Fawkes @ Dec 24th 2008 2:39AM
Huh, the maps do look really nice
buuuut
I stopped playing Halo 3 about two months ago and I don't think that a few maps are going to be enough to draw me back in.

looks good
