Microsoft making 'Zune Xbox' Application
If there is one harsh reality we've learned at X3F, it has to be that more people own a Zune (and care about Album Art) than we thought. While both on a market for quite some time, Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Zune do not offer any special functionality when working together but MS is taking steps to introduce both devices to each other -- if a recent job posting is to be believed.
According to CNET, Microsoft is looking to add a "User experience designer" to its Zune group who will focus on the Zune user interface, Zune PC application -- used to access the Zune Marketplace -- and a Zune Xbox application. No details are listed but speculation is it could be that Microsoft is developing an application that will allow users to download, manage and transfer content from one device to another. Anything is possible with the NXE and what Microsoft calls, a much easier interface to roll out extension services to. At this point we'd settle for a little "Xbox Live Anywhere" love we were promised years ago.

How about actually releasing the Zune in europe..?? :s

Yeah, they're taking their sweet ass time. We have the Zune in Canada, but not the Marketplace. It's like getting an erotic massage with no happy ending. :D

Easiest way to increase Zune sales? Allow it to be used as a hard drive/memory device on the 360, not just a music streaming device. And of course a dancing avatar application on the Zune.

This, times 1,000. I want to be able to use my Zune to store my gamertag.
It would be doubly nice if I could store DLC, too. But I'd settle for my gamertag.

FIX THE ALBUM ART!!!!!
Note: I'm a zune user from europe (bought mine of ebay) and i'm aware of the fix for the album art. That is all...

My idea... NXE on Zune
you can sign in live to check messages, compare achievements, go to market place, etc.
Do everything expect playing 360 games.

I like how they use such old pictures for the Zune. Looks like the first version 30GB.
Deezul @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:18PM
Correct, that's the Zune30, 1st Gen. 2nd and later gen have the squircle, not the circle, for the control pad.

It's easy to cut and paste album art in the Zune Software. I go nuts if the art is wrong, or if the album info is incorrect. That's why I can't use iTunes. Yes, some people are that obsessive over their music.
iFester @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:20PM
I hear you. I hated iTunes for the way it kept putting albums into compilations due to the crap CDDB they used. Ripping stuff in Zune Software I'm spending less time than when I was using Apple. It doesn't take much to do a quick cover search and paste.

...I wonder if MS is going to start charing for games on the Zune.
Or at least make you pay for the game once; buy the Xbox 360 XNA version, get a copy for the Zune for free.
Now that sounds sweet.

First warning line on the next Xbox - "Do not move the console WHILE IT IS ON."
Morons who moved electronics while they were powered on don't deserve a dime.

Isn't this even a warning they've stated with the 360?
kentawilson @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:11PM
This just goes to show you that common sense isn't so common.

I do not think the Zune pictured above is even sold anymore. You only have 80GB & the 120GB zune currently available.
BTW have both of them and I was thinking the same thing a few days back on why is the Zune not on my 360 since the accounts can be tied anyway (i.e your gamertag with Live etc. etc.) Plus both accept Microsoft Points and the Zune Pass is pretty good IMO.

I hope the zune and 360 work with each other like the ps3 and the psp that would be sweet!!!
