Microsoft, Sony reps to face off in Street Fighter IV grudge match
Community managers for Microsoft and Sony are finally taking it to the street, Street Fighter IV that is. According to Kotaku, this year's Consumer Electronics Show will host a large-scale tournament for the anticipated fighter that pits Microsoft, Sony and Capcom reps against each other. Three 20-person teams, captained by Microsoft's Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson), Sony's Jeff Rubenstein, and Capcom's Seth Killian, will throw down during the January 2009 trade show in search of gaming fame's best.
Console grudge match or clever marketing scheme? Regardless, this will be one of the few times Microsoft and Sony reps will be able to hit each other legally. We don't want to call a winner yet, but we can't wait to see the Vegas odds on this one. Microsoft and Sony going up against Capcom in Street Fighter IV? Yeah, good luck with that.

You know the capcom team are going to destroy the other two.

Yeah, when a new villain in the game is named after their marketing manager, it's bad news for everyone.

i meant, community manager. i'm sure many of you can find a video of seth killian playing street fighter with one hand behind his back and winning.
rohan @ Dec 24th 2008 4:08PM
wow what an even matchup, they should have the capcom guys have one arm tied behind their back.

I wonder what console this will be on, or if they'll use arcade cabinets instead
deathclock122 @ Dec 24th 2008 4:36PM
Microsoft is gonna win. There gonna give Capcom bags of money if they win.

"There gonna give Capcom bags of money if they win."
You mean:
They're gonna give Capcom bags of money in order to win. :P
HamalSharatan @ Dec 24th 2008 7:03PM
Ohh, I hope they record this.
Jitaroo @ Dec 25th 2008 12:33AM
If you see it on inside xbox you'll know major won
Skunk Ape @ Dec 24th 2008 7:04PM
I sure hope they use PS3s for this if it's gonna be on a console. The 360s controller is full of fail for fighting games. I don't understand why they even bother releasing fighters for the 360 to be honest. Those Mad Catz controllers do look promising though.
Jay M @ Dec 24th 2008 9:33PM
I would say neither.
They would more likely set it up on one of those arcade consoles they have had out in Japan for a while. Gotta keep some neutral ground.

CABALLOTE @ Dec 25th 2008 3:08PM
@whocares
If there weren't any trolls here, you would have gotten no response. Merry Christmas.
xboxsux1986 @ Dec 25th 2008 9:24PM
actually the xbox d-pad puts it in last....sorry xbox = ultimate fail in every aspect of a console....losers.
CABALLOTE @ Dec 26th 2008 1:21AM
Apparently "Sony trolls" do as they please here @xbox360fanboy.com.
Boff @ Dec 24th 2008 11:06PM
My money's on Capcom. They're gonna be dishing out the ownage.
eddyk @ Dec 25th 2008 2:27AM
The 360 D-Pad sucks so bad that I hope those at Microsoft will be able to use an alternate one ... If not, they can only fail !
Deck @ Dec 25th 2008 3:01AM
I love the 360, thus why I am here on this site. I also believe that our 360 controller is the best feeling controller out right now. Though I admit that the D-PAD is pretty terrible. So I would hope they wouldn't have this competition on the 360. An arcade cabinet seems like it would make more sense as it would then be a level playing field on that front.
Capcom will win by the way. No doubt about it.

Who uses the Dpad for fighting games? The Joystick is superior, analog sticks being the next standard, but Dpad for fighting games? Either you are seriously stuck on the SNES days or you just wanna bash on anything 360. If you're like Skunk Ape, I'm thinking the latter.
