HD Wall-E now rentable on the XBVM

One of the greatest movies of 2008 (possibly EVER!) is now available for rental off the U.S. Xbox Live Video Marketplace. Pixar's Wall-E and all his cute, innocent and robot'ish charm can be rented in standard definition for 320 Microsoft points or in high definition for the always expensive price of 480 points. Spendy, but totally worth the cash.
And for the seven folks who have yet to see it, be sure to check out The Dark Knight, which is also available for rental off the XBVM. "Let's put a smile on that face!"

I'll be watching Batman Begins this weekend then renting DK in HD. I'm a gamer, not a movie watcher. :) I'll probably save Wall-E for a rainy day.

"One of the greatest movies of 2008 (possibly EVER!)" Wow, I had no idea you were such a Wall-E fan.
EdgeOne @ Jan 2nd 2009 11:11PM
It was also one of the best movies of 1986 but went by the name Short Circuit.

Now then Microsoft, you should totally put some gamerpics up

NukeAssault @ Jan 2nd 2009 4:59PM

out all the great movies (milk, gran torino, che, slumdog, wrestler, frost/nixon etc) you think wall-e is the "best" of 08? or even greatest? please tell me you are like 13

Great Entertainment transcends traditional boundaries of Age, Sex, Race, and Creed.
WALL-E is an amazing film, easilly Pixar's best work ever. And when most of Pixar's films rank amongst the best ever, that's reason enough to consider it one of the greatest of all time.
The Wrestler was amazing (Aronofsky is my favorite director), Milk, Che, and Slumdog are all beautiful and moving pictures... But of all the films released this year, WALL-E is the only one I would recommend to my 13 year old cousin, my 4 year old niece, my 22 year-old best friend, and my 50+ year-old parents. I'm 22, and I'm "man" enough to admit WALL-E is my favorite film of the year.

i hated that movie...it was boring
Deck @ Jan 2nd 2009 6:41PM
Wall-E is one of the best movies of 2008. There are some other great ones of course, but to those who don't love the Wall-E, then they are missing something.
It is SO much more than just a animated Pixar film. I know i'll be renting this from the XBLVM in HD.
ObiWanKennoli @ Jan 2nd 2009 6:42PM
Worst. Movie. Ever. It bored me to death! Now Dark Knight, that was the best movie of the year. And I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, I love the X3F you put in the sky =P
Trekster_Gamer @ Jan 2nd 2009 7:49PM
I am glad they offer the movie but why pay so much to rent from XBL when you could own the DVD for just a little more. MEH! They charge way too much for movies and tv shows!
I am a HUGE, a freaking HUGE 360 fan but in this area they are just too damn expensive!
Deck @ Jan 3rd 2009 3:35AM
They are no more expensive than going to your local Blockbuster.
I think with their Netflix streaming as well as their rental ability like this, especially in HD, they have things covered. Granted, neither of those are release day releases but overall, its pretty good.
As for not buying it, who knows when you are going to watch it a second/third/fourth time? Sure some movies are, (Wall-E may even be one of them I think) but the majority you may only watch a couple times. So unless you are a DVD collector... might as well just rent it or stream it from the XBLVM. Its nice they offer it at least.

one of the best blus i have in my collection. dont hate. just showing love for the film. and yes i have a 360
john paul @ Jan 4th 2009 1:45PM
got it in blu too. Pixar knows what they're doing...
navstar @ Jan 2nd 2009 8:50PM
Or, for $25, you can buy the Blu-Ray edition and actually... oh, I don't know... OWN the movie (and the hours and hours of extras you don't get with rental)
Deck @ Jan 3rd 2009 3:38AM
How many people ACTUALLY watch the extras? Most do not I believe. Extras are just an "extra" way to add content to the package and up the cost of the disc.
justshovejayohbe @ Jan 2nd 2009 11:34PM
what a rip-off.
HalfAzn @ Jan 3rd 2009 12:28PM
This movie IS really great. My girlfriend and I watched it not too long ago and we both thought it was hilarious and she definitely thought it was "cute."
A great movie to watch with any female for sure.
