Has Lips sold that well? I haven't heard/seen much on it or know of anyone playing it. Is it worth putting down my Rock Band mic for?

Only if you really like to sing. It's fun and a lot more exciting than Rock Band/Guitar Hero's singing (obviously, because it's a singing game).
But it sucks you can't use your mics for any other game yet, but besides that the game rocks!

I don't know how well it's doing, but it's a well crafted game. It could use more songs, but it is fun. The microphones are quite cool, particularly the lights on them.
If you're looking for a karaoke game it's a good bet. I have both Lips and Rock Band 1/2 and, really, they appeal to different people who come over. A lot of the tracks on it are far more sing-a-long than I feel a lot of the Rock Band tracks are, plus there's a bit more to do for those who just want to sing and not worry about an instrument.
I'd not bother if you're happy with Rock Band and none of your friends are clamoring for a karaoke game instead.

Man, I would *kill* for some Earth Wind & Fire for Rock Band...

Rock Band could be a good karaoke game if it tried - and I hope it does. I had people over during the holidays who liked the game but could only find one or two tracks that appealed to them - I'd like it if they added more vocal-centric songs like these. And for the love of god please add an option to embiggen the lyrics.
