Left 4 Dead patch released, safe rooms are safe

You'll be pleased to know that on top of the server-side patch, Valve has just released a title update for Left 4 Dead that's a client-side patch for stopping hackers and exploiters. You know, because nobody likes dealing with a dozen witches while in a safe room. Safe rooms are meant to be safe. Valve confirmed with Joystiq that patch not only fixes all the cheats from working online, but also prevents the L4D shenanigans from working on system link.

They shouldn't have removed this, they should have just made it a separate type of game. I can see how this might be fun.

they shouldnt fix it either. they should just allow the survivors to be able to move objects by meleeing them. being able to set traps and block things off temporarily is still fun, but a stalemate or instant win is just cheap.

Though.. not sure why they would fix those big people if it was only through system link. Maybe people wanted to play like that?

the patch didn't work at all.. i still see ppl cheating on the elevator.. also you get more tanks..one on each level even if you move fast.. and whats up with allt he medpacks? they everywhere.. is bullshit..

Patching via XBL takes longer (and may cost) PC users have the advantage there...look on the steampowered.com forums at the update list. A LOT of things have been fixed on PC clients (for free) while XBL lusers play waiting game. I hate that game.

Yeah, Microsoft takes longer to release the patches. But you don't need to bash the 360 or anything.

Either I was playing a glitched game last night, or I discovered something else the patch did. While playing last night, I noticed I couldn't shut the starting rooms safe door, once it had been opened. Before the patch, you couldn't shut the safe room door on Versuses, but you could on campaign.

i dont care about this, all i care is NEW MAPS , MORE MAPS , MORE MAPS , MORE MAPS
im over playing those 2 maps over and overrrr..
valve is taking too much time to keep this game going on , im not even playing anymore ,paid 60 bucks for a game that only have 2 maps online.
