Umm isnt it 1.51 gigabytes, yes yes it is. You should fix that.

I'm no math expert but I'm pretty sure 1.51 rounds up to 2.
Krai @ Jan 8th 2009 2:56PM
Yep, sadly there in no online opposed to what was promised in this demo.
It is a good sequel but the demo leaves much to be desired as there is no open spaces for you to skate around like the skate 1 demo.
Ahh well, here goes to hoping the game is tenfold better than the demo.

It is 1.5 gigs and there is no online.
And they pay you for this... COMEON!

I was dissapointed (sp) in the demo. The original skate demo was great, taught you a couple of basics and you had the rest of half an hour to free skate and do challenges if you wanted to learn more.
This demo either makes you do career or multiplayer, which is good for you to see both aspects but they were did not pull it off very well at all.
Career: The original skate demo allowed for 30 min of time. I was able to do all the tasks and give me like 28:30 min to freeskate as I wished.
The skate 2 demo requires you to do challenges to gain more time to freeskate. On the first try I rushed through it to get as much free time as I wanted. Granted it was the 1st time playing the demo, I was only able to get just under 8 min of freeskate time.
Multiplayer: I did play the multiplayer and while it is enjoyable you are only allowed 3 rounds of 15 seconds of play time to pull off your best trick or bail in the Hall of Meat.
The demo's approach to the game was similar to that of the Tony Hawk's Proving Grounds Demo. It even looked very similar with the gritty look. I just wanted to learn the new tricks and free skate for a while to get a feel for the game, not be forced to do career tasks on a demo.
I loved Skate. and still play the original to this day and can skate the same spot for easily half an hour before even starting to get bored a single rail or funbox ect.
This is only a demo and I am sure that the full game will be a ton of fun and I know there will not be restrictions like this on the final build. This is a demo and I realize that (before I get flamed) but It makes the game feel too restricted to me. Its just my opinion and I am going to buy the game on day one.

If only it was like the Skate demo as usedbert said. But every time I play the demo, its like a new experience. Correct me if I'm wrong, just for those who didn't figure out:
1) Hippy jumps are performed by holding and letting go of X+A buttons.
2) Hand plants are performed by hitting the RB button at the lip.

Did they pull the camera back any? I enjoyed the first Skate but never liked the camera so close and low.

I think the framerate is much higher. That's a plus. Maybe graphics went down a hair to achieve this, but this version feels way better. I am bummed on the short-nonexistent freeskate time though too. I'll buy the game for sure.

Where did you get a release date of the 23rd? Everywhere else has it listed as being released on the 21st.
