Games have to evolve, it all comes down to a matter of opinion..but I'm happy with the series, it's not as if it's bad and it's remained fresh..which is pretty impressive.

I really preferred the old RE games where you mostly fought zombies, and not mutants. I enjoyed RE4, but I didn't like the - get a head shot, watch out for tentacles. I want zombie survival horror, just you against zombies and an Umbrella Corp. conspiracy. To me, the mansion will always be the best RE storyline.

it just sounds to me like u cant let go, the story would be so dry if it was that same old concept, if u dont like it dont buy it, cuz ur comments on not liking the new format will change nothing

firelark,
im in the same group.
Resident Evil to me has really changed so much that the originals really dont play anything at all like RE4/RE5.
The survival horror aspect I find is literally gone, especially work with conserving ammo, puzzles, riddles, inspecting items and rooms.
The difficulty is also insanely easy. Professional mode for RE4 was a complete joke, and literally wasting ammo is of no consequence to surviving.
Now dont get me wrong, I loved RE4... but in no way does it compare to the originals (RE2 and REmake are my favs).

Count me in. I miss the zombies of old... the dark corridors, the suspense, the genetic experiments, destroyed urban locales and abandoned labs. This is a whole new beast. I can't recognize my beloved Resident Evil there. All I see is some kinda Gears of War wannabe.

Is it just me or does the music sound straight out of Gears 2?

I made a Japanese account and forgot that the demo was region encoded so it just sits on my HDD taunting me.
