Lionhead releases bug fixing Fable 2 patch

Lionhead just sent word that the Fable 2 patch they announced last month has been officially released and will be applied when connected to Xbox Live with Fable 2. So, no longer will the Abbott bug break the game and (sadly) no longer will children be able to be assassination targets. That feature will be missed. Also, in preparation for the release of next week's Knothole Island DLC, Knothole Island has been added to the Albion map. Go get 'em fellow hero!

Why are these things never added in with the title? They're added a couple of missions and a couple of areas to a game that was lacking from the start.

Xbox 360 should stop promoting the idea of DLC. Developers obviously hold back content so that they can get in in to DLC which will cost us further cash.

Either you posted this as flame bait, or are very misguided.

Many would disagree with you that Fable 2 is lacking. Many would disagree that the addition of even several missions and a new area (new area!) is not worth their money.

And your belief that "developers obviously hold back content" is a little ridiculous. Sure there has been cases, but they all are not out to scam us. Come on.

You are so wrong. It is very rare that a company will deliberately hold back extras so they can cash in later. If people found out that they did that (the internet is a very powerful tool) they would have the ribbons sued out of them.
And, anyway, the only things missing from Fable II are:
1. The ability to set your dog on people.
2. The dog growing horns like you do when you go evil.
3. Interesting MP.

Lionhead, Please don't disappoint me with this DLC. Fable 2 is my favorite game for the ole' Box and my heart can be easily broken here.

How the hell did I end up with 801 points? I must have bought something silly in a drunken stupor around new years.

Patched my game and its still broken.. Can't leave the area I'm in without it locking up my xbox. Can't even pull up my xbox menu. :-(

Does the patch bring back my wife after "The Rescue"? I miss Lady Grey. It says she wants sex! I must satisfy my wife! lmao...

Really tho, I hate that my wife has gone to purgatory somewhere. I can't get rid of the stupid kid cuz of that.

Can't wait for the DLC. There is going to be snow!

one of out the 20 people i know who own this game ran into a game breaker bug and I think it was just freezing up at the hero of skill mission, he even tried changing discs but to no avail..

maybe this patch might mysteriously fix his problem?

Anyhow this game is probably my single player GOTW along with Lost Odyssey. So ofc Ill get Knothole island :)

Actually, they often do hold things back for DLC. One of the guys behind Halo Wars said so in an interview with one of the UK's many 360 mags. He said the DLC content is discussed in meetings with Microsoft during game development.

The patch never reincarnated my M.I.A. husband. Cannot complete blackmail or rescue quests. Beh. I'm stuck in Retribution quest to polish my halo and give my dog treats forever. But ...despite the glitches it was great to finish.

My game hasn't been freezing for a while after I initially got it. It went through a freeze fest during random areas when I first got it. I played around 4 hours today (yea pretty loserish) and it was working great. I then fired it up and it started freezing again! I'm thinking it might be my Xbox, but i'm wondering if the game still freezes for other people. Anyone?

I can unfortunately report that applying this patch does not fix the "notification area stuck" bug from an existing save game. So in case it is fixed, it will at least require restarting the whole game and losing all your progress.

Personally I don't think I want to play from the beginning again, so I guess that's it for me.
