Video: Meet The Godfather II crew

There's a new trailer for EA's upcoming GTAIV lookalike The Godfather II and it puts a spotlight on the crew. The Godfather's crew. You know, folks like The Safecracker, The Medic, The Engineer, The Bruiser, The Demolitionist and The Arsonist. Sounds to be a bit like a Team Fortress game. Confirmed! The Godfather II = GTAIV + TF2 + Not As Awesome. Trailer after the break.

I would rather play Jumper.
Or better yet, I would prefer to watch the entire Godfather trilogy instead.

Im glad to see their still making PS2 and original Xbox games! Man if this comes out on the 360, I bet it would be awesome!

I thought that was a Dead Rising screenshot. Dude on the left just needs a camera.

I love how the guy at the end kicks a chain link fence and it explodes into pieces.
Hopefully there's also a scene where one of the characters makes some cereal and it catches on fire. Should complete the immersion.

I really want this game to be awesome, but I doubt it will be ... sigh.
There's something about the Godfather that doesn't really translate into gaming, or at least a shooter. The best way to describe the issue is that the tempo is off, the Godfather is NOT an action movie so why would they make an action game out of it??
Dirty Whirlwind @ Jan 14th 2009 7:13AM
Well, its not based on the movie though, so the tempo that you speak of isn't really relevant. Its just EA's answer to the ever growing sandbox genre.
Godfather (2) is just the name on the box.
The first one was good though, and from what I've heard they resolved some of that games issues, so this should be a treat as well.

Ya know, I enjoyed the original Godfather game more than I enjoyed any GTA game until IV was released. The storyline was awesome, and the gameplay, especially the fighting engine, was amazing. Hopefully this one is set to the standards that the first one was.

I'd buy a Scarface sequel in a heartbeat, but this? All signs point to no. Maybe when it's uber cheap.
