Too bad it doesn't work overseas.
Premo @ Feb 1st 2009 9:20AM
No... No, I do not.
I live in Canada.
Watcher @ Feb 2nd 2009 8:07AM
I use netflix in canada. :p
Euroboy @ Feb 1st 2009 11:12AM
Feel those warm fuzzies?
Uh no, Joystiq, I don't. Since I live in Europe, I pretty much feel what I've felt ever since Microsoft decided that Europe shouldn't have Aegis Wings - left out in the cold. But then again, what do Joystiq care about that? If you ignore the problem, it doesn't exist. I suggest you continue the fine tradition of ignoring the rest of the world in your news posts.
kastonie @ Feb 1st 2009 11:28AM
dude, just move to the united states. Its the best country in the world...
we even have obama now... you dont get any better than this!
Mighty Healthy @ Feb 1st 2009 11:44AM
Considering the issue is absolutely out of the hands of Joystiq, crying about decisions out of their control is SURELY the way to find a solution!
By all means, continue the fine tradition of whining about MS not making international licensing miracles, in topics that have nothing to do with the issue.
Maverick Saturn @ Feb 1st 2009 2:53PM
Kastonie, only if you have never been anywhere else, if you have however, you'll find there are lots of other just as amazing countries ¬_¬

Yeah we REALLY need Netflix in Canada. Hey Netflix, get on it please!!!!
RedSonRising @ Feb 1st 2009 11:25AM
ive never used netflix on the 360 before.. is there an streaming HD content with netflix or is it all SD or worse? if theres any HD available i wanna give it a try, im not gonna waste my trial on an old SD library..
LegendaryRedass @ Feb 1st 2009 11:51AM
Yes, Hd is available. The faster your connection, the better the quality. Even at 2 bars, it looks fine.
Dragod @ Feb 1st 2009 12:05PM
HD looks fine, even at one bar... My connection is pretty much junk, and I was watching the King of Kong last night, and it still looks better than an "average" quality encode.
Dragod @ Feb 1st 2009 12:06PM
Oh... and the selection is very limited for Instant watch HD movies. I was very pleased to find the King of Kong, though.
psychohog @ Feb 1st 2009 12:51PM
I did the netflix trial and the HD looks great. The reason I ended my subscription was the lack of decent selections. There instant q library has a few good titles but is mostly full of crappy content. But hey, if they get more instant content that isn't full of the stuff that's there now, I'll jump back in.
RedSonRising @ Feb 1st 2009 8:10PM
so they did add HD to the lineup, thats great news for all 360 owners. im not interested in SD content, xblvm has a decent selection but netflix is prolly the way to go for HD content if they have enough movies.
i really think streaming and downloadable content are the best way to get HD content. the market is still working out the details but im not investing in any physical media this generation: no hd-dvd, no bluray. no discs, only digital distros..
Pos @ Feb 1st 2009 11:56AM
Are the even working on bringing movie downloads to other countries??
I shure would like it here in sweden.... We have the otion to rent movies and stream so MS get a deal with someone and go. Tired of waiting.
Dragod @ Feb 1st 2009 12:03PM
Heh. I ordered Netflix literally last night. Awesome timing.
Also, the "Share" button should be moved away from the comments button... Or at least made to only pop up when clicked. Every time I go for it, I end up crossing it, and the drop down menu pops up. Not killer, but very annoying.
marauder800 @ Feb 1st 2009 12:14PM
Is this for new subscribers only? I linked my Netflix account to my 360 on day one of the NXE.
Jon @ Feb 1st 2009 1:44PM
"because Microsoft and the famous red movie dealer have partnered for an Activate and Win promotion where all new (AND EVEN CURRENT) Netflix subscribers have a chance to win fabulous prizes."
Ian @ Feb 1st 2009 1:30PM
Is the Registrations page not working for anybody else?
AndyS @ Feb 3rd 2009 12:47PM
No, and I've been trying for a couple of days since the Joystiq story went up.
Maverick Saturn @ Feb 1st 2009 2:58PM
'Free' and 'Win' are the best words ever :D
Sure right be happy
Martin Greenberg @ Feb 1st 2009 5:49PM
well, that was a subtle sponsor injection
Michael Paul @ Feb 2nd 2009 9:37AM
It's actually a weekly, so you can mail in an entery every week until the end.
Unfortunately, I can't find an end date to know when to stop mailing in entries. Does anyone else see it, or can someone who knows someone at Microsoft or Netflix find out? Thanks...
Michael Paul @ Feb 2nd 2009 9:52AM
Ooops, nevermind, it does say only 1 entry per person despite beeing weekly...
SithAboveAll @ Feb 2nd 2009 11:09AM
where is the gamer picture to download if a current subsriber.....? or do i just not see it?
SithAboveAll @ Feb 2nd 2009 11:22AM
nevermind, the page doesnt work. is it too late to enter?
supalocrian @ Feb 2nd 2009 1:02PM
Ditto on that. Can't seem to download the gamer pic. :-\
RedSonRising @ Feb 2nd 2009 7:05PM
downloaded the pic.. more interested in the contest than i am the service. im browsing the hd options right now they're all terrible!! a bunch of tv shows i dont watch anyway and 5 pages of obscure d list movies ive never heard of that were never in theaters.
i just signed up for a 2 week trial and im thinkin i might cancel it before ordering a single flick. the SD stuff is nice but i was hoping for a better HD selection. i was expecting to see at least a few movies i recognize, not 5 pages of random stuff.
SithAboveAll @ Feb 3rd 2009 9:59AM
i got the gamerpic through the xbox, since xbox.com wasnt working.
as far as their selection, i used them before this feature. it's nice to watch some shows i never watched before, but i still get all the big movies in the mail on bluray.
