Nice! I jumped on one of these $30 offers a while back on when Amazon did this.
Nymo @ Feb 1st 2009 4:30AM
Another one to look out for: The "You're in the Movies" game and Live Vision camera is at Target for JUST $29.99 as well! That's MORE THAN HALF the original price of $69.99.
Dismiss all the crappy reviews: It's a fun party game. besides, You're getting the camera as well for less it's usual price...

I grabbed 12+1 months when buy.com was selling them, I'm starting to feel I should be suspicious about all these discounted live memberships though...
emirabal @ Feb 2nd 2009 2:23PM

takes the piss... MS charge the uk $60 for live (the cheapest online deal being $40).. for that we get denied half the content americans get on marketplace.. such as netflix (legal reasons..but theres no uk alternative added like Lovefilm), IGN insider, a whole host of FREE themes and gamer pics, and a quality xbox insider (because the uk xbox team also focus on 17other european terrortories..spreading resources and not giving us the focus that ALL 17 terrortories are paying for). And now theres even rumours that the primetime community channel (games like 1v's100) will just have the states in mind.and should it hit uk it will only come live at 3am GMT.
Frankly i'm sick of being charged for something that offers less. P2P hosted games dont work without a optional regional filter...something MS could easily impliment if they showed the slightest bit of attention outside the US. Cause as it is the UK, and many other countries, are being denied building up there own community as every game is host dominated by americans...and lets be honest different nations consistantly fail to get along.. so not only does the quality of gaming suffer connection wise, it also suffers in its community as games are poluted with racism.
Is it any wonder that less than half the 360 install base is actually online? sure live makes MS plenty of money..but only because theres no alternative (and few people want to pay $80 for game that offers access to half the content on the disk if you dont pay the addional charge of live). The pc market has already proved that when theres an alternative of free dedicated servers available the "service" MS offers simply cant compete... which is why live gets offered free to pc gamers now..which takes the piss all the more as our subscriptions are paying for that.
Anyway, rant over. MS sort it out!

Not just the UK d00d. I'm in Canada and we have the same restrictions. And we're on the same land-mass and the US!!!

Mercenaries 2 is pretty fun game. Bought it on Saturday while at BB. Co-op is a blast, and both players earn achievements. Needed a new subscription next month, thanks for the heads up. I was able to buy one before they sell out of them at my local BB.

a lot of retailers are selling 12 month renewals for around $30 lately....maybe its a sign the Live will become cheaper in the future?

I found the GH aerosmith bundle new for 30 bucks this week at Toys R us. That is a nice price for a new wireless guitar and then sell the game, and bam, an amazing deal.

You know, with these XBOX LIVE 12+1 cards going on sale for $30 all the time (Buy.com, Amazon, now Best Buy), Microsoft might as well just reduce the retail price to $30.
ericdrum @ Feb 2nd 2009 4:55PM
I'm good through Dec 2010 now.
Arceus @ Feb 2nd 2009 7:13PM
This is not worth it..it comes out to $37...which is a dollar less than the SALE price on Amazon right now..Ill just wait till Amazon offers again since they got free shipping and no taxes.
