Xbox 360 Fancast 102 -- The Lost Episode

X3F (that's the Xbox 360 Fancast) is back once again with a brand new episode. Before we get into the festivities, an announcement: The iTunes feed is up and running once again (which wasn't the case when we recorded). We're not sure about the Zune feed, so we'll leave it to the Zune users out there to tell us if it's working or not. This week we've got news, fanmail and an all new fantalk. We also bid a fond farewell to Ensemble Studios, which has now closed its doors for good. Download it and listen. Oh, and don't forget you can now stream the latest episode by clicking the play button in the Fancast module on the right side of the page.

@ X3F crew,
Your feeds (and your humours) seem to be misaligned; I'm getting the podcast both on the audio podcast feed AND on the X3F TV feed.
Speaking of which, I can has more X3F TV? and Points > Life? Plz plz plz?
Great podcast!
Richard Mitchell @ Feb 2nd 2009 5:44PM
I see a handful of X3F TV episodes as well. That's because we originally used the same feed for both. Some listeners didn't like that, so we separated the feeds. We never took the few X3F TV episodes we did off of the original feed though, which is probably what you're seeing.
CH3BURASHKA @ Feb 2nd 2009 7:41PM
Oh my God, the Great Richard Mitchell has bestowed upon me his comment!!! All Hail!!!
With that out of the way, can you change the podcast art; I still have the stretched out X3F banner (I'm a Zune user).
Thanks.

This is probably not the right forum for this, however ever since xbox360fanboy got absorbed into this new joystiq format, it pretty much has blown chunks. Thanks for taking the best xbox blog and basically ruining it. Maybe you can talk about that in your next fancast.
Gloqwi @ Feb 2nd 2009 6:10PM
They only talked about it briefly last podcast, but it would be nice to see their thoughts on whether or not they think they've lost their Xbox 360 edge.
Stupendous52 @ Feb 2nd 2009 5:51PM
Sadly, I feel similarly. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but it just doesn't seem to be the same.
AoE @ Feb 2nd 2009 9:36PM
@smak & Stupendous52,
I am right there with you, this is quickly going from a must-visit several times a day blog to one i hit once or twice... mostly in the hopes that we'll wake up from this nightmare. Doesn't seem to be happening though, might be time to find a new xbox 360 blog, since joystiq destroyed this one :(
Xav de Matos @ Feb 2nd 2009 10:11PM
Give us a little time and we'll be right back on your favorites. We're just getting settled in to the new format.

The first few days the feeds were wacky, non functional and with one podcast.
But, everything works fine on the ZUNE except for the ARTWORK, CAN WE HAZ ARTWORK?
PLZ I can't stare at a white Album Art on My ZUNE!!!!!!!!!!
Richard Mitchell @ Feb 2nd 2009 5:45PM
As a matter of fact, we should be fixing a lot of podcast bugs in the near future. Stay tuned.
ZenGaijin @ Feb 2nd 2009 6:02PM
Oh man, it begins all over again.
Great work on last weeks fancast or xboystiqcast?
joeybeast @ Feb 3rd 2009 9:40AM
JoyCast X?
SAGExSDX @ Feb 2nd 2009 6:52PM
i'm using the RSS feed in my zune (the original xbox360fanboy.com feed [i know; it redirects to the current xbox.joystiq.com feed]) and the album art is fine now. nice and square. just thought you'd like to know. =)
Disco Ball @ Feb 2nd 2009 7:17PM
ROFL, I did not even know my wife wrote something in. She really wants to play with you Dustin!
ingenious @ Feb 2nd 2009 10:25PM
The Zune feed does not work, for me atleast.
Whitedragon101 @ Feb 2nd 2009 11:44PM
My zune feed seems to work correctly. It says it is downloaded and on the device, but I haven't listened to it yet to 100% confirm, but it should be ok. I subscribed through the zune client just so that's clear
Guto Ribeiro @ Feb 3rd 2009 8:25AM
Hmmmmmm... It's true. Xav really sounds like Dane Cook...
joeybeast @ Feb 3rd 2009 10:45AM
I would not have listened to the show if I thought Xav sounded like Dane Cook.
Conor @ Feb 3rd 2009 9:04AM
The itunes feed is working fine for me.
Cheers for answering my e-mail as well.
TekZilla @ Feb 3rd 2009 10:28AM
Zune cast seems to work fine except no album art, which I like since the old art was always too big.. Keep up the great work guys, Im lovin the new format these kids are just stuck in their ways, its the same ole X3F. Now I think I speak for everyone when I say.. *clears throat*.. STICKERS!?!??
ABomb @ Feb 3rd 2009 1:21PM
Here is what I see with Zune. Before the change there was an audio feed and also a video feed (X3F TV) which you had to both subscribe to.
After the change both the Joystiq [Xbox] and X3F TV both show up as an audio feed and both have listed the last two shows. The X3F TV does not show any graphics but the Joystiq [Xbox] feed seems to correctly show graphics. If there has been a new video podcasts over the past two weeks it is not being pushed to the X3F TV feed on Zune.

"Hi everybody, Im [your favorite host] and welcome to the official Xbox 360 Fancast of Joystiq.com".. just a thought, less is more.. sometimes..
oh, and bad news.. xav does sound like a 'canadian' dane cook.. ts not a bad thing, but it is true..
