OFLC outs Worms Armageddon Decade for XBLA [update]

A listing appearing on the Australian Classification Office website has revealed that another Team 17 Worms title, Worms Armageddon Decade, may eventually inch its way to the Xbox Live Arcade.

The Armageddon Decade rating appears to have been applied for by Microsoft, which probably means this Worms edition will be an exclusive XBLA release and is a different project than the PSN's upcoming Worms. If the awesomeness that is Worms Armageddon is anything to go by, the XBLA's special Decades edition should be one of the most enjoyable Worms titles to date. That is, if Team 17 doesn't skimp on the weapon selection.

Update: Team 17 just informed us about the differences between the upcoming Worms games. The PSN edition will be an enhanced version of the XBLA release, including more weapons, additional levels, new audio and 1080p support.

The XBLA release of Worms Armageddon Decade (which we're told is subject to a name change) will be a "vastly expanded edition" of the original XBLA Worms, that will include weapons and features from Worms Armageddon as well as other brand new content. More details to come.

Worms on xbla was half-assed, lets hope they put a lot more effort into this.

Exactly why I never bought Worms on XBLA.

It was not Worms Armageddon (the best imo).

IF this does come about, ill gladly buy it.

I loved armageddon. I only sort of liked the arcade one. Hopefully this one does not disappoint.

I hope some of the classic weapons make a return in this new version. As much as I love the 2D Worms series, I was a little disappointed with the missing goods from the first XBLA version. Still a great game, though...

I love worms on the computer. I can't seem to get used to the controls on the xbox trial that I played. I keep planning on buying it though but think I'll just wait for this.

I just purchased the current Worms game from XBLA about a week ago. I was sorely disappointed with the game. The only other worms I've ever played was Worms Armageddon for the PC years ago. The XBLA worms seemed to greatly lack in level originality as well as weapon choice. I would have expected that over the years since the last time I played worms, they would have made improvements to the game, not made it worse. Hopefully this new version can live up to what it should.

I still love, and periodically break out, Worms 2. For years, it was our "break game" during LAN parties. The customization of weapons and options was just insane.

So... instead of a port of Worms Open Warfare 1, like we did with the original XBLA Worms, we'll be getting a port of Worms Open Warfare 2?

...Hope it's a port of the DS version, since that one didn't have the crappy Open Warfare engine.

Ok, now that I'm excited about Worms again. I don't know what I'm going to do. Between Fat Princess and Worms, I'm going to be spending like $40 on PSN titles.

Lets hope they dont fuck up this time. When worms was first announced for XBLA I nearly pissed my pant but later found out it was not worms armageddon, but a severely gimpped version with only 4 players, half the weapons, options and maps and modes. This time they better just put up damn worms armageddon as a port with possible additions. NOTHING missing from the game. then I will make the purchase.
