Ninety-Nine Nights 2 details arrive in short supply
Ninety-Nine Nights 2 (N3-2 from now on, dig?) is on the way, though we're certain few were asking for it, and the latest issue of Famitsu has revealed the first details. Siliconera says the feelplus-developed title now contains support for two players, and a photo of the article reveals a couple new characters in "Guren" and "Sefia" (at least, we think -- it's all in Japanese!).
The title remains exclusive to the Xbox 360 and is expected to arrive later this year. These are the folks who worked on Lost Odyssey and Infinite Undiscovery after all -- what could possibly go wrong?

I hope "two players" means co-op. I would definitely get a co-op N3.

Feel-Plus hooking up with the original N3 devs only means good news here.
And yes coop N3 would be epic win.
Loved the first, and prayed for a sequel FOR YEARS. Was so excited when MS announced the sequel at TGS last year.
Its really a niche title but for those of us out there, we love N3.

Amen!
I loved the first title as well. As a matter of fact, I just played N3 last week for a blast from the past. Damn fun game, first day purchase for me on this one.

Yeah, about fukken time this is released. The first game was epic, and had some of the most fun and challenging battles i've ever seen out of a hack and slasher.

i didnt really like n3, id rather play dynasty warriors. but whoever gives me online hack and slash co-op first will get my money. come on dw6, was that really so hard to do?

N3 had some of the most cinematic "special moves" (Orb attacks) I've yet seen in a game playing in real time. Watching Aspharr sending a BLOOM of enemies, exploding in a spherical dome of death, was awesome looking. Or watching Tyurru's tsunami slope into vallies, and up mountains in the distance, alo while killing every enemy it touched. That's still some pretty impressive stuff!
If this sequel explands on that level of epic gameplay, while fixing up the collision glitches, adding multiplayer (Splitscreen OR online), and retaining the amount of unique gameplay between each character, then this will be a definite purchase as soon as it's released!

Inphyy was my favorite character. Her final move is arguably the most powerful in the game. I loved this game. Good to hear there is sequel talk.

I just hope they got to a simplified combo system, more in the DW fashion.
Demon G Sides @ Apr 16th 2009 2:09PM
No. You're removing half the fun of the game by dumbing it down. The game was amazing, it just lacked enough content to keep it going. If they had done like, 10 stages or more per person, I would still be playing it to this day. The game was excellent.
Klaraan's Totem Scythe was an awesome combo to unlock and kick ass with.
Rocketboy @ Apr 16th 2009 2:16PM
See, I felt like there was nothing to strive for with so many combos unlocked when I first played the game. It was already at the point that I had no idea why I would need so many ways to attack, and there was no way in hell I was going to bother to remember them all.

This type of game is for a select few that enjoy this, you know who you are, and you're probably going to be playing DW Gundam next week. YAY. (Hint Im one of those people).

If you gave it a chance N3 wasn't that bad, and Lost Odyssey was a grand story with great writing.
MaxShrek @ Apr 16th 2009 9:05PM
Maybe they can put some save-points into part 2, the lack of saving made N3 unplayable after a few levels of yawn. Unless it was so much yawn, I never bothered to save in the first place (?)
