Buy 4000 MS Points from Amazon, get $10 free credit
There's a new deal at Amazon's recently opened Xbox Live Store. Right now, if you purchase 4000 Microsoft Points, you'll get $10 in credit on future purchases. Essentially, it's like getting another 800 points. For those that can't pony up $50 for the 4000 points, Amazon is also offering $5 in free credit for purchasing 1600 MS Points.
It's not exactly a killer deal either way, but it should nab an extra XBLA game or at least some DLC down the road. Regardless, given XBLA prices lately, you'll need all the points you can get.
[Thanks, Jonathan]

Buy 2 1600s, get 10 free dollars, buy 800 with the 2 $5, then you get 4000 for 40 bucks. Better yet cause it wouldn't require a future purchase. I guess I prefer savings now rather than later.

You can buy 800 points on amazon
David @ Apr 22nd 2009 6:27PM
I meant to say you can't buy 800 points

Oops...

Dang, my plan is doubly flawed.
Rhamsey @ Apr 22nd 2009 5:47PM
yeah, i saw this on amazon this morning. seems like a decent deal, but thats a lot of money to be putting into points all at once.
Yuccadude @ Apr 22nd 2009 5:57PM
I got a 4000 points card at Circuit City before they went out of business, and it lasted me like 3 months, so it's good if you are just buying anything on Live.

I guess you can only do it once. I was hoping to buy 2 1600 pt cards like Flex said but I don't think it would work that way. I bought a 1600 one so I'll give it a try again after I receive my $5 credit.

Gah, I just bought 2000 points this weekend at Best Buy. As long as this deal is good til the end of June though, that's cool since I'm sure I'll need more by then.
superklye @ Apr 22nd 2009 7:38PM
The offer isn't, the bonus points are.
The offer is only good until 5/2 (from the Amazon page):
Offer valid from 12:00 AM Pacific Time on 04/22/09 to 11:59 PM Pacific Time on 05/02/09.
Alex @ Apr 22nd 2009 8:49PM
I'm no mathematician but 2x 1600 = 3200 for $10 over your 4000?
superklye @ Apr 22nd 2009 10:08PM
Apparently you don't read either: only one bonus offer per household.
So you can buy 2x1600 cards, but you're only getting $5 for it.

God damn comment system.

I have nearly 16,000 points already, hey Punk, you reading this? That's right biotch......16,000 points. And what did it cost me? Nothing. Aight!
who360 @ Apr 23rd 2009 2:25AM
how?
Powaqqatsi @ Apr 23rd 2009 4:28AM
@ who 360
You lie, that's how. The fool spent $200 for those points.
JH @ Apr 23rd 2009 2:43AM
Oh it's nothing special, just know how to barter and wheel and deal with people. It isn't illegal and no, I didn't run and steal a bunch of point cards (besides you can't, those aren't activated until you buy them at the register anyways). But if you know how to make deals, then things just happen. I had 19,500 points, but I don't use them enough so I just finally downloaded Peggle and some DLC for other games, and now I am getting low at just over 15,000 points. :-)
ro diddy @ Apr 23rd 2009 7:57AM
Suppose it doesn't have anything to do with the sudden influx of 100 rank GOW2 players . . . would it?
JH @ Apr 23rd 2009 12:53PM
Nope Powa, I didn't spend a dime, didn't break any laws either. You just need to know how to work the system.
JH @ Apr 23rd 2009 12:53PM
Not sure what that means, but nope, I haven't even had time to play GOW2 yet, I am quite backlogged in my games.
