VOOT camp: Virtual On retrospective
Now that Virtual On Oratorio Tangram has been released to XBLA, we thought we'd point you toward a very interesting retrospective on the series at GameSetWatch. Written last month by Ollie Barder of doublesix, the studio behind Burn Zombie Burn, the article takes a look at the entire history of the Virtual On series, starting with the groundbreaking original and moving all the way to the disappointing Virtual On Marz.
The article covers a lot of interesting facts. For example, did you know that the Twin Stick control method was actually devised to work around arcade hardware limitations? New players and old fans of the series should definitely give it a read.

Pretty nice article but he left out some good faqs about the begining of the series.
Such as in the begining of Virtual On.......
Sega had these two divisions called AM2 and Am3 which for the most part were always trying to out do the other.
Am2 gave us games like Virtua Fighter and Daytona while from Am3 we got Sega Rally and Fighting Vipers.
Well one day AM3 made a mechbased fighting game and called it Virtua On.
The Am2 department would have none of this claiming that the Virtua name belonged to them and that Am3 had no right to use the name what so ever.
A lawsuit was even filed.
In the end Am3 changed their games name from Virtua On to it's name we all know now Virtual On.
Silly Sega would fight within itself like this but it's a true story and an interesting Faq this read left out.

That's verging on an urban legend of sorts (unless you have a source). I left this out mainly because it's not been openly verified and has nothing to do with the mechanics of the game.
