1 vs 100 to feature seasonal Achievements
1 vs 100 just became You vs Your Gamerscore, as the upcoming game will feature Achievements, Kotaku reports. The game will run in 13-week seasons, with each season allotting 200 Gamerscore in Achievements to gamers that earn them. When a new season starts, new Achievements will be available, adding incentive for players to keep coming back.
This news will surely excite Achievement junkies, since the game will most likely be free to them anyway. If they're a Gold subscriber, that is.

This game just became something that I will play when I'm bored on a friday night to something that I may just have to plan party nights around. Good Game Microsoft.

the achievements on this are really cool and i hope to get them all. shifting gears now, i just hope this (1 vs. 100) is something that actually lasts and doesn't end after the first "season". something that comes to mind that i really enjoyed that ended quickly was the old spice experience challenge (i think that's what it was called). anyway you just basically got free stuff (like xbox live arcade games) for getting gamerscore up a certain amount. before the first contest microsoft touted how awesome it was and how many possibilities there were with it but after that first one, it was never to be heard from again. this is just somewhat along the same lines in that you get free stuff for doing something that can potentially be free. i just hope this doesn't have the same fate. like, that gamerscore challenge thing, this is advertising supported so i guess it comes down to i hope companies keep wanting to put their ads in this so it will stay around.

The guys over at Official Xbox Magazine asked someone at MS about those challenges and they said that MS was open for more challenges like the Old Spice one, as long as they had a sponsor. Apparently Old Spice paid for everything that was given out and MS had nothing to do with the prizes.

hmmm interesting, thanks for sharing that cole. either way my point was simply just hoping that the primetime channel in general sticks around and that they keep 1 vs. 100 and/or add more games to this channel. oh and somebody else pay for the gamescore challenge thing so we can get more free stuff!

This game is going to be just as addicting and dangerous as crystal meth!
gilbertopalau @ May 7th 2009 3:17PM
Ehhh that comparison was a bit out of bounds considering kids read this... couldnt you say its as addictive as Warcraft? Sugar? Etc?
The Dark Wayne @ May 7th 2009 4:09PM
it's not out of bounds. Lots of kids do crystal meth.
Ar ar ar ar ar

@gilbertopalau,
It's parents responsibility to monitor their children's activity on the internet, it's not the internet's responsibility to censor itself to suit lazy parents who can't be bothered to take an active role in their childrens lives.

Release the game already
Prox @ May 7th 2009 3:13PM
No joke. Do we even know of an official date?
The Dom @ May 7th 2009 3:32PM
Do we have a scoreboard of E3 08 announcements that never lead to anything since last year?
- South Park Xbox game
- 1 vs 100
HT UK @ May 7th 2009 3:05PM
Any word on a release for this yet?
So it'll be 800 GS available for every year it runs
Paul @ May 7th 2009 3:37PM
possibly may 15th according to this:
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/08/honda-sponsors-launch-of-xbox-live-primetime/
that is the release of the "primetime channel" which is where this game will be located. also, the possibility of 800 gamerscore is assuming that there is no break between the seasons. for some reason i feel like they will take some sort of break after the first 13-week season. this is possibly so the writers can make more questions for the second season. unless, they have been working already on questions for multiple seasons.
ash @ May 7th 2009 3:12PM
I'll be playing it tomorrow night, if I can stay up that late.
The Dom @ May 7th 2009 3:30PM
no, you wont.
ash @ May 7th 2009 4:16PM
Yes yes I will. Looks like I will be on the 12th and the 15th according to the reminders I have set. Downloading it now as to be ready at 11:00pm tomorrow.
Ash @ May 7th 2009 4:32PM
Sorry for being a smart ass. Canadians start the beta tomorrow.
ccc @ May 7th 2009 4:54PM
@Microsoft.

Microsoft, you are on to something here.
nbdyz @ May 7th 2009 4:57PM
I can see everyone cheating in this game. In the end, it will all come down to who's faster at googling and whos internet is faster.
Snowblind @ May 7th 2009 5:19PM
Considering you only have a matter of seconds to answer the question, I doubt it'll be possible to read it and then type it into Google and get any results before your time is up.

Rhamsey @ May 7th 2009 10:22PM
free achievements? chances to win real prizes? I'm sold on the idea already.
Boff @ May 8th 2009 4:43AM
Free game + achievements = top of the charts.
MS aren't stupid. They know we'll lap it up.
