Amazon tactically cuts one third off Halo Wars price for today only

Amazon's daily deal features Ensemble Studios' Halo Wars, offering the game at the discounted price of $39.99 for the standard edition. It's a game that many on the Joystiq staff find to be "the tops," though others on the staff have found it to be "mildly satisfactory." It's caused a rift, one you need not bother involving yourself in because, hey, cheap game! And, should you decide to pick this up, you could always apply those saved duckets toward some of the new DLC. Just saying ...

i love halo wars and im not even a halo fan. halo wars is a really good game and is totally worth 40 50 or even 60 bucks for the retail version alone.

im still not interested in the dlc because i only play deathmatch games. i prefer 1v1 but ill play some 2v2 or 3v3 here and there but ive never loaded the 2nd 'faster' gametype.

im not paying for 2 more modes ill probably never touch. theyre basically just playlists, something bungie never charges for (i dont even play halo games and i know that much).

I wasn't even a fan of RTS before this game was released, and I'm glad I picked it up.. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!

Or, you can stop trying to pretend Halo Wars is a good RTS and pick up StarCraft for 20$, or Warcraft 3 for 40

Sorry Doug, but though I love me some Halo Wars, Reed is right. Starcraft and Warcraft 3 are excellent choices, and though site is focused on the 360, you clearly wrote your post on a PC. And if your PC is strong enough to visit this website, it's strong enough to run Starcraft :P
