Raiden IV media blowout
Fans of shmups will be happy to know Raiden IV will be hitting Xbox 360s very soon. It's coming in August, to be exact, and bringing with it some nice pseudo-3D visuals, online support and exclusive content not found in the arcade version.
To celebrate, we have the official box art, some screen shots and a plethora of artwork to check out below. Make sure you watch the debut trailer after the break, too!

Glad to see this but I can't even seem to find Raiden Fighters Collection on the shelf anywhere. Preordering is practically a must with titles like these.

I can't condone it, but sometimes BitTorrent can be a real blessing for hard-to-find titles.

I just picked up Raiden: Fighter Aces @ ebgames.com for $19.99 plus shipping last week. This has the original 3 Raiden games. Take a look there if you're still trying to find the game.

What are the "pseudo-3D" visuals? Did they throw in some CG cutscenes or something?

i would pay like 12.00 for an arcade version but 60.00 might be too much.
the game looks extremely fun though.

Is Raiden IV bullet hell? This might get me sold on a 360.

One of the first games I had on the Playstation in 1996 was the Raiden Collection.
This sure brought back memories of those early days. Glad I still have that game. =)
I wouldn't call this franchise history changing though. Radiant Silvergun, Einhander, and even the 194X games really defined history in this genre. But Raiden does sit up there with Mars Matrix and Ikaruga as Bullet Hell icons. Layer Section too?
