Target and Amazon offer Xbox 360 specials this week
Target -- or Targét, for those in the know -- has Xbox 360 software at "buy one, get one 50% off" this week. That means purchasing one game at normal price and getting another of equal or lesser value at 50 percent off. There are also $50 gift cards included with 60GB Xbox 360 consoles and $10 gift cards included with Xbox 360 controllers.
Meanwhile, Amazon is having a special on Xbox 360 Elites. Those who purchase the Kung Fu Panda/Lego Indy bundle receive a $70 gift card, while the Halo 3/Fable 2 bundle comes with a $50 gift card. All the deals mentioned above end this Saturday, July 25, 2009, when the moon will be waxing crescent.

I'm still bumbed about not being able to grab Left 4 Dead regular edition for $12.48 at Target. Every single store within a 30 mile radius is sold out.

Time to go buy some live points from Target. Screw GS! Free 5 dollar giftcard FTW!

Wow thanks for pointing that out, I looked at the flyer and it just flew right through my mind.

I'm reading the comments on Amazon.com, and apparently, the 360s in this deal were manufactured before July 2008, which means they use the older chip set and are more prone to defect, RRoD, and E74. I'm not saying this isn't a good deal, but be aware that you are buying a system that will likely fail.

That fellow looks genuinely excited to hold oversized 360 games.

Something people need to be aware of before jumping on board the Amazon.com deal is that Amazon has a small tag line on their Elite bundles ads stated "Newest Version". I posted a thread about that on there, because it can be perceived as it being the latest Jasper-equipped systems when they are not. Amazon.com SHOULD change the wording of that to state "Newest Bundle" instead of using the word version. They aren't shipping out Elite's with the Jasper chip, they are clearing out their stock of bundles with the Falcon chips in them. If you want a Jasper Elite, then you will need to go to a local retailer and look for it in-person, and take any ad's that offer a free gift card as the retailer should honor it/price match.
