Crack the ODST code, win some wallpaper
Not literal wallpaper, of course. That would be boring. No, the latest bit of Halo 3: ODST marketing will reward you with digital wallpaper, assuming you can figure out its devilish puzzles (or look up the solution on the internet). Microsoft has released a little interactive video series on its ODST splash page, in which Sgt. Buck -- the leader of the ODST squad in the game -- interviews potential candidates for a mission.
Within each interview, there is a section that has been "redacted" and requires an access code for clearance. It's up to Halo fans to uncover just what those codes are. For those that want to discover them on their own, we won't spoil the fun for you. Here's a hint though: Watch the live action ODST trailer again. The rest of the codes can be found within the ODST site itself.
For those that don't care about all that and just want some wallpaper, you can find the codes -- expertly hidden -- after the break.
Dutch - 12-485-TA
Romeo - 15-926-PI
Crespo - 47-074-SN
Wallpaper - 06-078-TI

I wonder how many people will not understand how to reveal the "expertly hidden" codes...
FANTASKIT @ Sep 23rd 2009 5:40PM
the dude below your post was the first of many
furiousgunman @ Sep 10th 2009 10:37PM
Are the codes: Dutch, Romeo, Crespo, and Wallpaper. They seem pretty lame code names. And why is there a random black rectangle next to the code names?
The Dark Wayne @ Sep 10th 2009 10:46PM
fail
Special Agent Steve @ Sep 10th 2009 11:11PM

Tep @ Sep 10th 2009 11:14PM
I hope to god that was sarcasm otherwise my god you just stupid to a whole new level.
Liquid man @ Sep 10th 2009 11:15PM
@furiousgunman
I can't tell if your being serious or being sarcastic like a total idiot
But if you WERE being serious, sorry and you should highlight those "random black rectangles" if you want to see the code........ =/
furiousgunman @ Sep 10th 2009 11:25PM
BTW to everyone, it was sarcasm. That's why I deliberately mentioned the black rectangles in the post.
Reaperz Ballin @ Sep 10th 2009 11:03PM
I just had to create an account to LOL at furiousgunman. You are a classic case of idiocy my unintelligent friend.
The Dark Wayne @ Sep 10th 2009 11:05PM
your profile says you've posted since Nov 2008

The Dark Wayne @ Sep 10th 2009 11:23PM
Kinda mediocre wallpapers imo, wish they had a 1680x1050 for that matter. Think id rather just use the one from bungie.net with the art of all the squad
Special Agent Steve @ Sep 10th 2009 11:26PM
I honestly didn't even try. You can just google it and find it under images.
colostomeboy @ Sep 10th 2009 11:44PM

^^^ That thread on Bungie.net debunked this like a week ago. Why is joystiq getting slower with their information?
Richard Mitchell @ Sep 11th 2009 12:23PM
Debunked what? There was no information to be debunked.
Dan the Man @ Sep 11th 2009 2:53PM
Sorry, I meant that these videos were posted by Microsoft (and the codes were found) like a week ago. Whenever I go to Joysiq, the news that's posted is always new to me. But lately some of the news has been old, like a week, or more, old. (e.g. the Psych episode w/ Crackdown, the unedited ODST live action trailer, or even Conan w/ Beatles Rock Band)
Maxx the Slash @ Sep 11th 2009 1:33AM
I can't get Mickey's access code to work, after 5 tries. Butch's and Romeo's worked fine, but Mickey's wont.
Azbulldog @ Sep 11th 2009 3:08AM
Someone left a direct link to the wallpapers, they are underwhelming.

Oh, weak. They're just random stills from the Live Action Trailer.
Booooo.
Snowblind @ Sep 11th 2009 4:44AM
These little interviews are very cool.. Good backstory to the characters.
t cro @ Sep 11th 2009 5:56AM

i'm kinda thinking of this game as the sequel to Firefly....
SteelBubbles @ Dec 8th 2009 5:06PM
