As our more astute readers likely gathered from this very post's headline, another week has gone, so it's about time we checked in with
Major Nelson to see what made his list of the most-played games on Xbox Live. Unsurprisingly, Bungie's dynamic duo of
Halo 3 and
Halo 3: ODST managed to do well, taking the first and third spots, respectively --
Call of Duty 4 was in the second slot, while
Forza 3's demo managed to get some play time on folks' boxes, taking a tight turn into the seventh place spot.
On the XBLA side,
Trials HD did backflips to the top of the list, beating out recent releases
Zombie Apocalypse and
Bust-A-Move Live!. The remainder of the XBLA list saw favorites
Battlefield 1943 and
Shadow Complex rounding out the bottom end of the top five.

A thing to remember it was a 2 disc set. So it's kinda skewed because half could be playing ODST the other half could go back to playing Halo3 multiplayer.

Well if your playing the multi-player disc from ODST it registers as Halo 3 not ODST so thats probaly part of the reason. No game has spent more time in the #1 spot than HALO3 not even COD4 or 5.
Theres just something about the multi-player in H3 that always sucks me back in.. It never gets old and it shows.

Very true, i find that alot with any halo game. You might leave for some time then days later you will be hooked again.

I think COD4 topped Halo3 just about every week before COD:WaW. The 2 COD games cannibalize each other though, so Halo3 squeaks by. Just saying.

I am still surprised how popular Trials HD has become since its release. For the game that seemed like the also ran after E3 it has really risen too the top of the Summer of Arcade pile.

It's a bit crap you can only play FireFight with friends.. none of the friends I've played with, actually bought the game..

Awesome that CoD4 is higher than CoD:WaW, it is a much better game! I can't wait for MW2!
