Attention virtual pilots: New DLC for
IL-2 Sturmovik is now available on Xbox Live and PSN. The DLC adds six new missions to the game, one for each theatre. Also included in the pack is a new plane to fly, the American P47D. According to the
Xbox Live Marketplace description -- though curiously absent from the press release -- the pack also adds the German Ta 152 H-1. The mission pack DLC will set you back 400 or $4.99 on Xbox Live and PSN, respectively.

I guess it's because the story and link defaulted to the XBox channel on Joystiq, even though it also shows up on the Playstation channel.

From the players perspective: How is this game? Is the online activity pretty good?
I'm very much used to arcade style flying games, but I like the idea of old school flying action.

if youve played any old school pc airplane simulator, its pretty much like it. I love this game because it brings back memories back when I had a PC for gaming. BTW theres a demo if youd like to try it.
PS: the green background sucks joy...

How many of you just cannot play airplane simulations? I need to feel good here. I just cannot fathom the mechanic behind it. I always get disoriented, confused and end up crashing in embarrassing ways. And this isn't limited to a single game or experience. I just cannot fly in ANY game. I feel ridiculous about it.

It's really a shame that gameplay replays of Battlefield 1943 can't be recorded, b/c I'm sure people would get endless hours of amusement watching me as I fail in properly flying any of the planes in that game...and that was in the tutorial...I just don't use them for now in regular rounds.
