LOL, yes, I love the audio issues, they crack me up pretty hard sometimes. The ones with Xav near the end of Dustin's final episode had me rolling around my bed crying.
Last week's, when you started playing that music and then were like, "So we're just letting this play, is that what we're doing?" or whatever is still making me laugh right now. Thanks again.

@Xander:
Your concerns about digital distribution are understandable, because EVERYONE has those concerns. However, I think we both understand the reason for the pricing: the retailers would stop stocking the games and worse, the console, and since Microsoft doesn't have retail stores (yet), that would be devastating. Valve can do low prices and extravagant deals because they are software only: they don't have to be worried about console sales.
As for the PSP Go, the reason (I think) it's been a failure isn't the concept, it's because it's a PSP as opposed to a PSP2: it divides the market unnecessarily, when I could've just been a completely new console. In terms of console sales, Sony has retail stores (albeit not as widely distributed as other stores with their products), so technically the PSP2 is a conceptual possibility, and a... conceptual success at that.
Back to Microsoft: They love money, and would love to charge 60 bucks for digital games even after the death of retailers. If we unite as a single gaming entity, I'm sure they can be reasoned with (by threatening their own death). Until the retailers go under, I'm afraid we'll still be seeing digital pricing on par with retail pricing.
On the bright side, I have a feeling that when the 360v2.0 will be announced, Microsoft will have the retail presence, they'll make the 360v2.0 a completely online experience (in terms of purchases) and before it does ship, the 360 games will go down in price in relation to retail prices to get people psyched for lower prices across the board. At least, I hope so.
But then again, what the hell do I know?
URM0MLIK3SME @ Oct 12th 2009 8:25PM
You know nothing!!!!!
CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 12th 2009 8:44PM
Would you like to propose an actual argument? True, I know little in this field, but if I'm wrong, please point out to me what is wrong about my reasoning, exactly.
Halwende @ Oct 12th 2009 9:13PM
Those are good points - I've always been under the impression MS will simply just charge what they deem the game's value to be. If they put it up for x amount and - most importantly - people PAY it, then we as consumers have confirmed that price point and voila, it ain't gonna come down out of the goodness of their heart, that just isn't good business...
CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 12th 2009 9:26PM
@Halwende: You're correct, and that's why my plan, or OUR plan, hinges on the casual consumer understanding they're being ripped off. We understand that, but we are too small a market to do anything; we need their help.
Gloqwi @ Oct 12th 2009 10:47PM
Too bad the only people reading this probably already know this...but thanks for bringing it up, anyway!
Also, I think that the reason the PSP Go is a failure is because it virtually cuts off anybody who has already owned a PSP and has already purchased UMDs, therefore cutting off consumers who are considering upgrading.
Xav de Matos @ Oct 12th 2009 10:53PM
Shouldn't we wait for sales data before anyone claims the PSP Go is a failure?
CH3BURASHKA @ Oct 13th 2009 12:44AM
@Xav:
No, we shouldn't. We should all hope that it does fail to teach Sony to NOT segment their market, and failing to make it a seamless transition for previous PSP owners. Had it been a PSP2, it would've been awesome. The worst part is that a spokesperson said that because it's a new product they can charge a premium! And not allow UMD owners to get digital copies!
Once again, all y'all hope that it burns in a fire.
Xav de Matos @ Oct 13th 2009 1:55PM
Not to play (obvious) devil's advocate, but Microsoft segmented its market worse by not making the hard drive a standard issue accessory to all Xbox 360 users.
Just sayin'!
Larry @ Oct 13th 2009 2:29PM
Agreed. The reason is for the pricing is obvious. The constant complaining about the pricing is more annoying than the actual price points. We are all adults here we know why the prices are what they are. The reason Valve can afford these sales is retailers don't care about PC games.
Rhamsey @ Oct 12th 2009 8:35PM
Its not up for download on the zune yet... Been waiting a while.

What is Richard holding?
Halwende @ Oct 13th 2009 6:57PM
I think it's a health potion from Diablo II
Steven W. @ Oct 13th 2009 8:01PM
Yeah, I think it's a health potion, not sure if it's from Diablo II or not, but it's some kind of potion.
UNSCleric @ Oct 13th 2009 5:04AM
Just started listening, and I want to say that the sound board is AMAZING and should be used as much as possible, it's made me laugh really hard quite a few times already. It also is responsible for helping me find the DO IT LIVE video, which I had never seen before, and actually affected me so much that I had a nightmare about it.
Steven W. @ Oct 13th 2009 7:58PM
Something's wrong with the Podcast's download speed on iTunes. It's downloading like 100kb/s when normally I get like 5mb/s. :\
Oh wait, now it's not even on iTunes anymore. Technical difficulties? :\
Steven W. @ Oct 13th 2009 8:00PM
When I said "the podcast", I meant this episode. Every episode is up there but the newest one, at least that's what it is like for me.
George McBain @ Oct 14th 2009 4:27PM
Just catching up, since I voluntarily decided to skip episodes 135 & 136, but I REALLY enjoyed 137 and this episode. I think all up coming ones are looking just as bright. Richard, Alexander, & Xav for the win!
RedSonRising @ Oct 14th 2009 10:49PM
