Dealio: Xbox Live 12-month card for $40
Xbox Live is the frosting inside the Xbox 360's Oreo cookie. Sure, the two chocolate wafers are delicious alone, but it's that sugary stuffing that makes it an Oreo. The only problem is that the frosting costs $50 annually -- so, it's nice to see that it's only $40 for a 12-month Xbox Live gold membership card on Amazon at the moment.
As far as we can tell, a similar deal is not available for the downloadable version of the card. If you're already a gold member, the subscriptions should accumulate. We're more than happy to save $10 on that renewal, 'cause Xbox 360's are just better stuffed with frosting -- wait, what?
[Thanks, Ganung]

It's been $39.99 @ Newegg for a while, I remember checking last month and it was like that.
HalfAznGuy @ Oct 26th 2009 11:16AM
Yeah every time I have checked for at least the last year, NewEgg has had them for 39 + free shipping. That's always my go-to, unless Amazon has them for the same, because they ship faster with my Prime Account.

It's been $39.99 on both amazon and newegg for several months. I know cause I've been holding out for a while hoping to see the $28.99 sale again.

People always list $50 for xbox live per year as a complaint but in reality its only $40 as this deal is recurring. I've never paid more than $40 per year for the 3+ years I've been on Xbox live.

Lol and to think that it costs 80$ everywhere in Europe for even less services (no netflix and whatnot)

UK'ers get SkyTV now.
blazinsmokey @ Oct 26th 2009 12:00PM
I haven't paid more than $30 for the 12+1month for the past 2 times I bought it. The last time I didn't need it but it sure as hell didn't hurt to get it and throw it on.
colt4by5 @ Oct 26th 2009 1:58PM
Yeah, wait for $30 12+1 cards. They pop up from time to time, especially during the holidays.
Deezul @ Oct 26th 2009 12:00PM
I can't say this is the same at every Microcenter, but I was at the one in Northern Virginia on Friday. They had 1600 point cards for $13, 3 month cards for $10, and 3 month kits (3 month card, headset, 400 points) for $13. it looked like they bought a bunch from a Blockbuster that closed. 1600 point cards worked fine...
That One Guy With The Hat @ Oct 26th 2009 1:07PM
What does that analogy mean if I really dislike the frosting inside Oreos?
Aaron @ Oct 26th 2009 2:34PM
12 months+1 for $20 where I live. Actually you buy a 3 month card and it somehow magically inputs as 12+1 months. This is something you don't question though. It's happened from cards bought at several stores in the area.
Mainer82 @ Oct 26th 2009 4:15PM
If I apply this code will this reset my "roster" or whatever it's called? My 6 years standing number?
Killerrin @ Oct 26th 2009 9:02PM
nope it still adds to it

Just so people know, Xbox LIVE 12 month cards are international. So buy away
